> 3 dayI enjoyed starting fires with it my children also enjoyed learning to use it . The best for what it . A thousand fires or more you just cant beat it . I tied a piece of fat wood and a small blade that is easily sharpened on a rock. Ive started fires in the rain just to see if I could. I have never been unsuccessful in letting it fire thank you for your beautiful product.

09-06-2025It works wonderfully compared to the Harbor Freight one I used previously. It is so easy to start a fire with this. It even lights shavings....ie you dont need the perfect tinder. The reason I gave it a 4 is hopefully to draw some attention to how heavy it is. IMO too heavy to carry. Its a basically a soild steel bar 1/2 in diameter and 5 long. I would prefer 3/8 for carry. Easily 5 stars for the produce performance...4 stars for usefulness of a rod this big.

> 3 dayThese throw a lot of Sparks when using the back of my knife. Seem to of pretty hard composition so I dont get those ripples on some of the softer ferro rods. Will order again which might not be for a while seeing how hard these feel and how thick/ long they are.
