> 3 dayThis stuck produced a very strong shower of sparks with good sized chunks. It lit my tinder quicker than any other ferrorod I have. I would purchase again if I needed more.

> 3 dayIf you are into severe survival, a candle and cigarette lighter are the winning combination. I have started a fire in the snow while it was raining. Ferro rods are a major step down for fire starting as compared to candle wax on tinder and a cigarette lighter.

Greater than one weekSheds sparks very well! Nice size to grip when your hands are cold and the dexterity is partially gone. This will provide a lot of fires!

> 3 daybeen using this for a while now and really like it. its a good solid rod that puts off plenty of sparks. it is a hard rod so it has a different feel then the softer style rods but it will last a long time. has a thick coating but no problem for a good striker or knife with a good spine. Ive even used it with a cheap Gerber pocket knife with good results and it has a very small 90 degree spine to strike with. definitely a rod you can always count on.
