> 3 dayId only ever bought my filters from Petsmart, and since I went to college and brought my fish tank with me, its easier and cheaper to buy it online. I was nervous that somehow it would be different from the kinds at Petsmart, but its exactly the same filter, cleaning cloth square, and tank chemicals.

> 3 dayWe have a biorb and the filters require frequent changing. The service kits are very reasonably priced and much easier to replace than changing all the chemicals yourself.

> 3 dayWas just as expected. This kit has everything you need for completing a water change and really makes aquarium up-keep seem simple and easy. The kit contains a cloth for cleaning the aquarium walls and I love it! If it wasnt for the higher cost of this filter (although maybe worth it for ease of use) as compared to other aquarium filter refills, I would probably buy a new service kit for every water change. Instead, I bought one service kit/filter cartridge in addition to the filter cartridge I received with the aquarium. I rotate between the two filter cartridges by disposing of the old carbon and rinsing off all the filter components. I then bought some fresh active carbon and zeolite that I use to refill the cartridges. I have only performed 3 water changes so I have not been using this system long. I expect in time I will purchase more of these service kits as the sponges wear out. As a side note, I have been able to reuse the cleaning cloth twice now by rinsing and air drying it between water changes. I also bought a separate bottle of water conditioner. However, this kit contains all the water conditioner you need so if you buy a new service kit for each water change you are good to go.

> 3 dayGreat product with the exception of the water conditioner and biological booster which has been swapped out from the brand pictured. This generic stuff freaks me out every time as my (standard gold) fish sinks to the bottom for a couple hours and generally looks like hes going to the big aquarium in the sky; Ive also noticed his orange color has disappeared. This is the third and final time I will use this kit; planning to get the filter, but just buy the conditioner and booster stuff that used to make my fish zip around the tank. Bummer. I feel bad for my fish.

> 3 dayLove my biorb tank. I have the 16 gallon, and these service kits are wonderful. I have not found any in stores near me, and am glad they are available here on amazon, and hope that they continue to be. I just do a 1/3 water change, change the filter and am good to go. I change the filter about every 8 weeks. If it becomes super dirty earlier, I just rinse it off, and put it back in...does the trick.

Greater than one weekRest if you have a bioprb. But a little expensive. Although all of this companys stuff is a bit over priced. Why?

> 3 dayIt irks me to pay $10 a piece for these kits, when I know I can refill them with 50 cents worth of charcoal myself and rinse the sponge. However, after doing just that for a while, I have switched back to the kits. Its worth the money for the convenience, and Spot (my goldfish) gets slightly cleaner water, which makes her happy. The 6-packs are cost-effective, and after the second swap, I forget about the cost and appreciate the ease of changing them out. On the other hand, the design and engineering of the filter pack is truly horrid (whether you use the kit or not), and the difficulty of getting the tabs to line up and lock in place makes every filter change a hassle. If you dont yet have a Biorb system, I would highly recommend you dont get one. You will be locked into a system of overpriced, yet poorly designed accessories. Too bad, because they are beautiful to look at.
