Does a great job cleaning. Down side is the cord length. Older homes have fewer outlets.

I recently purchased the BLACK+DECKER Steam Mop, and I have to say, it has become my new best friend when it comes to cleaning. This steam mop has revolutionized my floor cleaning routine, and I cant help but share my positive experience with it. First off, lets talk about convenience. bought ahead of time for a gift, so i didnt open it of course. when opened, would not even turn on. . . item looked USED. Way to go Amazon. thanks for wasting my hard earned money

First time steam mop user here - and all I can think of is why the heck didnt I get one of these sooner! It made one of my least favorite tasks kind of fun. It cleans really well and it only takes a few seconds for it to be ready to use. The one thing I have to warn about is that the cord is a bit on the short side. I kept reading about that when I was getting ready to buy, and I just figured everyone was living in a huge house or something.. but no, I can definitely say the cord is weirdly short. Even in my small area, I have to use an extension cord to get the whole floor. So, if you do buy one (and I do recommend it) be sure to get a little extension cord to go with it. Another thing to note is that the water tank isnt removable (its like an iron in that respect). I found the best way to fill up the tank is to use a measuring cup.

Pros: Easy to use. I love that it cleans very well and dries quickly! Cons: Cord is way too short, only good if youre mopping one small room.

This steam mop was pretty easy to assemble, though I wish it was more comfortable to use. I found the on/off switch and steam operate button to be uncomfortable to use, since I had to apply extra pressure for them to work. My other issue was with the cord, which was kind of short for my needs. It would have been nice if it was longer. I also wish that in addition to the cord hook on top, this steam mop also had a cord hook on the bottom, which would have made cord handling and storage easier. It also would have been nice if the water tank was removable, which would have made it easier to fill up and empty. Lastly, when storing this steam mop after use, I had to lean it against something so that it didnt fall. I wish the handle had a hole for hanging it on a hook, which would have made storage easier. Overall though, despite the above shortcomings, this steam mop has been working as expected so far and had no performance issues. I used this steam mop for my kitchen floor, which has tiles, and it cleaned it well.

This Black & Decker steam mop is a nice steam mop. Although there is plenty of room for improvement with this device. First off the cord length. The cord length is not at all long enough. I can not adequately clean my floors with this steam mop because the cord length is so short Im not able to reach areas of my floor in my house because there isnt an outlet close enough to reach. Another thing is only one mop pad? The steam mop only comes with one mop pad! Really? I dont understand why they would only give you one mop pad when most other manufacturers give you at least a spare mop pad. After you use the mop for awhile cleaning your floors the dirt on the mop pad begins to clump up so unless you buy an additional mop pad. You have to stop in the middle of cleaning to clean the mop pad. The water tank is not removable. You have to lay the body section of the steam mop on the floor and use a pitcher or a cup to get the water into a small hole. Why couldnt the water tank be removable? Other than those important features that could be improved on this Black & Decker steam mop. Its not all that bad it works as advertised and it does a good job of cleaning the floors.
