Excellent product. Setting it up as a network printer for two Linux Mint computers was relatively easy. Output quality is excellent; pages come out really fast. Only criticism is that withdrawing the paper tray to add paper involves a complicated process of first pulling the tray partially out, then lifting it up. This is not easy, and makes me fear I might break off a plastic part if I get it wrong, If technically possible I would favor simply pulling the tray all the way out without needing to disengage any locking mechanism. Brothers manuals and on-line videos are most helpful. Formerly I used color inkjet printers. I tired of the heavy cartridge expense and decided that I really did not need color printing. I have no regrets about moving to a monochrome laser machine. This Brother printer is somewhat larger and heavier than I had anticipated, but I regard this as a sign of solid build quality.

We have bought this printer and then had to have it replaced a year and a half later because it stopped working and it was still covered under the Square trade warranty. We got a replacement under the warranty and now is not working again but we are out of warranty. Stay away from this printer if you have it in an office thats used daily

As a person working in IT we all hate printers as it is. But this printer take the cake. This is a brand new printer and every print job is filled with black dots all over the page. Turning to brother support they recommend you clean the drum of any debris that can be causing these dots. This is a brand new printer!! I have a business to run. I bought this printer to aid with my business not to take more time out of my day. Even after cleaning the drum as recommended I am still getting black dots everywhere. Horrible printer. Will never buy a brother printer again. How can you allow this to happen? You have been warned. Do not buy!!

This printer does great black and white printing. The only issues is the amount of power that it draws. My electrical circuit is 15AMPS and with the printer and other office equipment running on the same circuit I have tripped the circuit breaker several times. Otherwise the printer works well, is reliable and, easy to set up and operate.

It’s a good buy for a cheap laser,, but the replacement toner cartridges are pricey, so buy bulk toner and refill yourself, it’s easy

The printer, brand new, out of the box was printing black spots all over the page. Contacted support on three separate occasions and still have no resolution. Each time I contact them, they have me run through the same exact routine each time as if Im contacting them for the very first time. I have a ticket number so there should be no confusion about what Ive done already. Ive spent at least three hours trying to get them to resolve this issue with no success. They sent a replacement toner and while that improved the situation, it still has a significant amount of black spots on the pages. The delay in waiting for the toner cartridge pushed the purchase date past 30 days, I cant return it, and Im stuck with this printer.

I have used this now for over 3 months. It is very quiet and very fast. Duplex also works great!
