> 3 dayGreat workhorse printer. We are using it for high volume printing as a backup to our other printer and it’s worked great. I wouldn’t consider it the backup printer anymore.

16-11-2024Just terrible print quality with a grey background with streaks and splotches (see photo). Print quality was good at first but deteriorated after one or two months and maybe 200 pages (current page count is 398). I performed the cleaning procedure according to instructions on Brothers web site. The problem reappeared within a few days. Next, I called Brother support where the agent walked me through the same procedure. I asked her what I should do if the same problem appeared again. She told me to buy a new cartridge, and if that didnt help, buy a new drum unit. Great! The problem appeared once again. This time I read Brothers warranty which states consumables (drum unit and cartridge) are covered for 90 days. I contacted a Brother Authorized Service Center about getting it repaired. Turns out that you have to get authorization from Brother before an Authorized Repair Center will work on your printer even though this is not stated in the warranty. When I called Brother again, they wanted me to go through the whole cleaning procedure again. Then to actually get a repair authorization, you have to call back within 7 days with the same problem. Ive never experienced a warranty hassle like this. Ill never buy another Brother product since their support is so horrible.

17-11-2024I actually cant attest to how it works because its not wireless, and comes with NO Ethernet or USB cables to use it. I should have done more research. Good price, but you have to create a full Brother account for them to even tell you that they dont provide cables, Big Brother much? Ill update when I order cords and try it, but not sure I can endorse all this. Customer service was much nice then Epson though

> 3 dayBrother printers have never let me down. To be honest, I have 300 dollar plus brother that does scanning, fax, email, duplex and prob can wash my car too, but sometimes its better just to have the black and white laser that gets the job done. Love ya Brother.

> 3 dayThis is the 7th Brother printer that we have in our office. Previously I have used HP, Lexmark, Dell, Ricoh and Canon printers. In my, in my experience Brother are the most reliable and trouble free printers. After about 4 - 5 years, they start giving you error messages like replace parts, replace drum etc. That is usually the time to replace the printer. At 42 ppm, this is a fast and 250 page capacity printer. Print quality is not the best but decent and acceptable. Cost of printing per page is low. Brother toners are generally lot more expensive and on Amazon, you can find cheaper toners and ink from other aftermarket manufacturers. The high capacity 8000 pages Brother TN850 toner for this printer is currently priced $108 at Amazon, which translates to 1.35 cents per page and if you buy after market toner, it will be even less expensive. The printer is easy to set up. Wired network connection is trouble free. I have not used this printer with wireless setup but based on my past experience, wireless connections are not as stable and off and on you may have to re-establish WiFi connection again or reset the network connection. You can also print from your mobile device. An optional second tray can be attached. Changing settings from small monochrome screen is not easy but lot of the settings can be changed from web page using the printers IP address. In my experience, Brothers technical support is not that good, their tech support reps are not knowledgeable and well trained about products. This is a fast and reasonably priced printer for a small office.
