Greater than one weekNever could use this item - plug it in a the circuit breaker blows. I have tried multiple outlets. Any suggestions After many attempts - pulled this printer apart, noticed a solder joint on one of the wires that looked dull. pulled out the solder gun and redid the joint. Unit has not blown a circuit breaker since. Brother has the worst support attitude I ever faced, never will I venture down the relationship road again. BROTHER, someone is getting a working printer for how long guess they can ask BROTHER.

> 3 dayThe good: very easy set-up, fast printing, instruction materials written in proper English. The bad: a bit noisy and the manual sheet feeder is made out of plastic thinner than I thought possible. The printer comes sturdily packed, and the inner wrapping has handles to make removal of the printer easy. Very well thought out. Out of the box, I just plugged the printer into my home network (I dont believe in WiFi), turned it on, and my computer found it, and it all just worked. Printing is fast, though a bit noisy. It has that mechanical sound of parts not made with very high precision. Overall this printer is doing exactly what I need it to do, namely print documents cleanly and reliably. I would buy this again.

> 3 dayMy cannon copier broke after 20 years. Please do not buy this if your looking for a copier. I misread that and now Im out of the $320 I spent for Brother HL-L5200DW with the toner and warranty (which never came).

> 3 dayIve had this printer for a couple of years and mostly I really like it EXCEPT it would periodically go into deep sleep and then we couldnt wake it up. This would totally have been a dealbreaker if I hadnt missed the return window for various reasons too boring to list, and I have been annoyed with it ever since. I recently helped my dad purchase a newer version of this printer specifically because on the reviews for it some wonderful woman had posted the directions to get it out of deep sleep. Unfortunately the sequence didnt work for this model, and Brother tech support were worse than useless, but after searching the internet far and wide, my 13 year old and I found the solution. Here you go: Scroll with up down arrows and go to GENERAL SETTINGS. Press ok ECOLOGY - press ok SLEEP TIME - press ok. You will see a display that says _MIN (like one or two minutes, this is changeable then press the DOWN arrow and the red CANCEL button at the same time now it should say DEEP SLEEP and you can change the off/on for this with the up down arrows. Choose OFF and press okay. Then use the BACK button to get yourself to the main menu. Power the printer off and on again and you will not suffer from Deep Sleep mode again! Hurrah!

> 3 dayI have tried for months to print mixed paper size documents with not success. I have contacted brother repeatedly and I just spent 1 hour just today. We tried everything and then I was told that there was nothing else that they could do and referred me to contact adobe. I plan to sell this machine and buy another printer from a different brand.
