Bundle Includes Soldering Station and CHP170 Cutter

Used it the first time last night to do a couple simple tasks. Im very impressed. It came up to temperature in about 10 seconds. Its so very light and comfortable to hold. My results were excellent. The small chisel tip that comes with the iron seems useful for many tasks. I see no need to buy other tips if you are using this for small wiring and component tasks. I confess I didnt read the manual. I just plugged it all up and started work. Its very simple to set up and operate. And here is a really nice feature that makes operation easier: the cord running between the iron and the controller has silicone rubber (or similar) insulation, making for a very soft and flexible cable. My older soldering iron had a cord with plastic insulation that was stiff and tended to kink. this is a big improvement. I dont think most folks will find much to dislike about this iron.

A great soldering iron. Very fast warm up time. Makes soldering a lot more efficient! A great upgrade from an uncontrolled soldering iron.

The Hakko FX888D is a great soldering tool. I wish that I had purchased one sooner.

This is the best soldering iron I have ever owned. I have quite a few including a nicer Weller, but this takes the cake. It heats up quick, maintains temp, and actively shows what the temperature is. While it looks like plastic, the entire thing is metal and the stand is rather nice. This was well worth the investment.

Absolutely love this thing! Still just wish theyd supply you with 2 tips one pencil and the small chisel tip that comes with this kit... but hey.. the product is fantastic.

I was very much on the fence about this station vs. the comparable Weller one, and am happy with this. It looks like a cheap toy in the photos, but once you get past that its very nice to use. Heats up very fast, takes inexpensive tips, and the stand is very sturdy. No complaints, I bought a second one for my other bench.
