> 24 hourWhile Id never try to use such a printer for work use, this is a perfect printer for the home and home office that prints a couple of pages per day. The price is low, and the quality can be adjusted for reasonably high DPI. Photos, once the beads have settled into the photo paper, leave no streaks and it has an interface you can run to fine tune print head alignment. As for ink, you know what youre getting. Of course these things go through ink. Im still on my original cartridges, and on the 2nd fill for each one. Get a refill kit (I got 4 oz of each color and 8 oz black) and call it good. Use a tool called IPTool.exe (I use version 1.1.5) to reset the color counters of the cartridge. If you dried the cartridge out (or one color out) you can still refill it, and then run the deep head cleaning from the native software to get it working again. IPTool.exe can reset the software counter for that color on the cartridge, and youre back in business. Ive basically spent about $55 for the printer, and $39 for a refill kit that may last me the life of the printer if the jets hold out. So far the color cartridge went dry once, and running back to back deep-cleans fixed everything.

> 24 hourWe are very pleased with our Canon photo printer. We printed photos off of the computer the first day we had it and they came out very clear and the colors were perfect. I will use this item for all my picture printing from my camera from now on. It will save me a lot of money since I have been printing pictures at WalMart for 28cents each. Glad we ordered the Canon machine and recommend it to others. Thank you.

> 24 hourFor the life of me, I cannot believe that Canon did not include a printer tray on this printer. This means that whenever you print from this, it doesnt have a nice sheet coming out from it like the picture but spits out your documents all over the ground. Furthermore, the cartridges are tiny. These small little cartridges hold such little ink and constantly need to be replaced and always seem to be drying out and need to be cleaned using the software included with the printer. The catch? Cleaning uses up ink. I am a college student that prints documents and no color, but apparently I cleaned the cartridges enoguh that the color cartridge became empty and it stopped printing until I replaced it. I have always felt that printer companies are like drug dealers, they try to hook you with a cheap printer and then hit you with the expensive cartridges later. This is really just about as bad as it gets with an inkjet printer. I know its a bargain-basement deal, but Canon really cuts corners on this thing way too much. Stay away if you want to protect your sanity. I am writing this at 3am in the morning because my printer, which has two recently replaced cartridges, wont print properly and my documents are all splotched.

> 24 hourI was needed a printer for quick jobs at home and purchased this machine because it seemed stylish. It has been a wonderful saver given space issues in my home. When the top and tray fold up (which is very quick to do, this sits like a nice black box on top of my desk. It is unobtrusive. I can easily stack stuff on top of it if I need the space. The printing is quite nice, though the ink is expensive. I would definitely not suggest getting the ink from anywhere other than an authorized dealer. I have tried to get the ink on-line a few times, but have ended up with cartridges that have so little ink that it is not worth the money. I have since decided to only get ink from Staples, where I can be sure that they are not putting some fractional amount in and sending it to me. I use to have an HP and would have no problem finding ink on-line, so this is a bit unique to the cannon 40/41 vendors. Print quality is what you would expect at $50. It does the job for office work, but obviously if you are a photographer and need the highest in quality pictures, than you should probably pay up for some of the fancier printers. However, if you just need an occasional print job that can be a reasonably grainy, this will do the trick (I sometimes print CD covers with it. Its fine).

> 24 hourI bought this used for a reasonable price. When it first arrived I kept getting an error when trying to install the ink cartridges. Turns out the printer had sat for a few months. I cleaned the heads and the cartridge, and all is well. I wanted a printer that you can purchase re manufactured ink for. I didnt want to spend a lot on ink. Secondarily, I wanted a printer that printed a decent amount of b/w per min. Lastly, I wanted it to be portable. I am 100% satisfied with this printer. I do not have experience with the photo printing, only black and white.

> 24 hourIm disappointed! After reading many reviews and all the technical specifications, I did not foresee this difficulty. Today I purchased this machine to install on my Macintosh, operating system OS X.4, which all the specs say is compatible, but the installation CD states that it will work only with operating system OS X.5. So now what? Back to the store I go, I guess. False advertising Id call it.

> 24 hourFor the price, this printer is wonderful! The print quality is good and its easy to use. My only complaint is that the ink seems to run out pretty quickly.

> 24 hourThe new printer straight out of the box showed a jam signal. The Canon service technician on the phone could not help us. We are suppose to find a Canon service dealer and have them repair it.
