Mine worked for a while . . . but now the photo stock wont feed at all, and the only message I get is Paper out! Load paper and press resume button. Even though there are 20 sheets of photo stock in the hopper. Update: I adjusted the number of sheets in the hopper and got it to work. Not sure what the optimum number of sheets is - perhaps close to full (1/2 inch space)?

Great little printer for the money, but the cartridges do not last very long. They offer larger cartridges, but theyre pretty expensive too. When I went back to the store to get more ink cartridges, I realized that buying a new printer (which comes with cartridges and a small pack of photo paper) was about $4 less than buying the replacement cartridges. I felt a little guilty since its such a waste of resources (environmentally speaking), but thats Canons stupid fault for pricing things the way they have. Do they really think were not going to notice that the replacement ink cartridges cost more than we paid for the printer? Corporate America doing what it does best...wasting money. Had the two cartridges cost $25, I would have saved myself five bucks and gone on with my life. So I reluctantly bought another printer for $30 instead of paying $34 for the two little replacement cartridges. How could I not? That said, Im not the type to keep buying printers and putting them in closet or throwing them in the dumpster, so Ill be looking for an alternative soon, preferably from another company...but for the meanwhile, this one does the job just fine. Its just the principle that puts me off. Everything about the printer is great...looks awesome sitting next to my iMac too.

No issues. Owned one of these for years and it finally died. This was a perfect replacement.

This is a cheap printer, and I dont mean merely the price. The feeder on mine went bad in less than a year. It would only intermittently grab the paper to print and times when it did it would start printing further down the page than I specified. Color ink doesnt last very long and, for me, the prints came out with faded color after a while. Avoid.

I have had this printer only about a month, but so far it has performed well. It is just a simple printer -- no bells and whistles -- and, for my personal needs, is all I wanted. My only complaint has to do with the price of the ink cartridges for this model. I had a Canon prior to this model and the ink was much less expensive. I dont understand the difference, but maybe these cartridges last longer.

Bought the printer at walmart, am on my second black cartridge. Turned the printer on to do some printing and got seven flashes on the amber light. Looked in the manual and read that the cartridge was not properly installed. So far, I reinstalled it about fifty times, to no avail. I still get the same message, can anybody offer any help ?

The first one I received didnt work right out of the box. A new one was sent which is fine. It is an attractive unit, however, in order to keep a supply of paper in it, you must open the top and front for operation which spoils the looks. I dont use it too much, so I just keep paper elsewhere and keep the unit closed.

I purchased this printer, dont remember where. I really like it. The photo quality is great and the general printing quality is wonderful. It has been hassle free.

I have a B&W workhorse laser (HP) and didnt use this printer much except for a few color prints once in awhile. If I had, I probably would have run into the feeder issue a lot sooner like many people out there. However, under such little use, it took 11 months for the Feeder Failure to appear. The feeder starts grabbing just the right side only and jams the paper. You can try cleaning it, but it doesnt work. You can Google it and gauge about what stage the printer begins to do this for people--but my guess is about 100 -200 feeds. I got this printer free, but Im still a little disappointed Canon put out a defective printer. The features werent great, it was a middle of the road printer, a bit slow, cheap plastic, expensive ink, etc, but as far as I can tell a very inexpensive purchase price for what you get, which probably explains why they only offered a 90 day warranty: it was made to get past the 90 day mark only.

While went to buy the Ink for my HP Photosmart printer, I noticed this printer from Canon for just $30 and bought this one without any second thought ($30 is way cheaper than the HP inks). Installation went without an issue on my Vista PC, and I am not finding printing speed an issue. So far so good. I prefer to stay with Canon than HP for following reasons. 1) HP uses color ink even when choosing black printing. Though I print black and white prints, but HP makes me to buy color inks more often than b&w 2) HP expires the ink after some period. HP wants to generate constant money flow, but IMO this is not a way to do. Thanks Suriya.
