> 3 dayI actually bought this printer at Wal-Mart, before looking at any of these reviews. When I got home I checked them out. They seem to be totally mixed, and its hard to tell if the darn thing is any good or not. I started thinking, What kind of a piece of **** have I got here? Im glad to see I was very wrong. Its light years faster than my old HP 5550, and works like a charm. The first time I printed something I though it was just spitting a blank test page through first. Much to my surprise there was actually something printed on it. My old hp used to take a good 90 seconds to chug a page through, and I can see that this printer and I will be great friends. I havent really had a chance to test it with photo, but its not something I do much of anyway. (Insert blatant promotion of costco here, who charges 12 cents a print online and mails them back to me for free) The whole machine cost less than a new color cartridge for my HP, which was why we were at the Wal-mart in the first place. To anyone who isnt looking for a lot of bells and whistles, this is definitely the way to go. Its a boring black printer that does its job perfectly.

> 3 dayThe Canon Pixma IP2600 / 2600 is a P.O.S. It prints super light, as if the color in was watered down. You get what you pay for. Pay $25 more and get the 4600 and youll be satisfied, but research the ink costs in advance. Also look at generic ink distributors.

21-11-2024I have had this printer only about a month, but so far it has performed well. It is just a simple printer -- no bells and whistles -- and, for my personal needs, is all I wanted. My only complaint has to do with the price of the ink cartridges for this model. I had a Canon prior to this model and the ink was much less expensive. I dont understand the difference, but maybe these cartridges last longer.

> 3 dayHi, i was faithful to Canon printers, this was my 3rd canon printer... I hated Epson printers cuz since long time ago, the epsons automatic features and ink level sw were not accurate... this was the main reason why i have been faithful to canon printers... but not anymore, i had s200, ip1500, now this one... and seems to be that as others say, there are chips in each cartridge, and my original black and color cartridges are no longer recognized by the printer, the printer sw says there is no more ink, but there IS still ink left.... I guess canon become very greedy... shame on you canon... i was so loyal to your brand for nothing...

> 3 dayBought the printer at walmart, am on my second black cartridge. Turned the printer on to do some printing and got seven flashes on the amber light. Looked in the manual and read that the cartridge was not properly installed. So far, I reinstalled it about fifty times, to no avail. I still get the same message, can anybody offer any help ?

> 3 dayCanon tends to make good products, and this is no exception. A very good printer for the price.

> 3 dayIve had this for a bit over four months ands use it infrequently. I had expected it to dry up between uses - it doesnt. It prints every time and prints well. If it were lost, Id buy another. Less than five stars because it is slow.

Greater than one weekI have a B&W workhorse laser (HP) and didnt use this printer much except for a few color prints once in awhile. If I had, I probably would have run into the feeder issue a lot sooner like many people out there. However, under such little use, it took 11 months for the Feeder Failure to appear. The feeder starts grabbing just the right side only and jams the paper. You can try cleaning it, but it doesnt work. You can Google it and gauge about what stage the printer begins to do this for people--but my guess is about 100 -200 feeds. I got this printer free, but Im still a little disappointed Canon put out a defective printer. The features werent great, it was a middle of the road printer, a bit slow, cheap plastic, expensive ink, etc, but as far as I can tell a very inexpensive purchase price for what you get, which probably explains why they only offered a 90 day warranty: it was made to get past the 90 day mark only.

> 3 dayThe first one I received didnt work right out of the box. A new one was sent which is fine. It is an attractive unit, however, in order to keep a supply of paper in it, you must open the top and front for operation which spoils the looks. I dont use it too much, so I just keep paper elsewhere and keep the unit closed.
