> 3 dayIve been using Canon printers happily since the very first Bubble Jet. Over the years I learned how to use bulk ink, relatively inexpensive non-OEM cartridges, etc. Ive used a few HP printers, but they always seemed to develop hardware or other problems after a year or so. So I picked up the ip2600 for general use, mainly in my home office, where I simply want something to print documents (usually in fast mode greyscale). Occasionally something in color. When I want to do prints I use an ip3500, in the basement, which does a much better job. This printer will take you to the poor house. It goes through these tiny and over-priced chipped cartridges at a stunning rate. The overall quality is pretty good. Not brilliant, but certainly passable. But, holy cow, Canon has joined the rip-off ranks. So, now this one goes to the basement for emergency purposes only. Come on guys, if youre going to do these chipped cartridges, at least make them with decent capacity at a fair price.

> 3 dayI bought this printer several months ago for thirty bucks at a big-box discount retail store. (Cant remember whether there was also a USB cable in the box; there might have been. I have plenty of them at home so its not a big deal for me either way.) At the time my main home printer was a fancy Canon multifunction inkjet. I got the IP2600 because its small and lightweight. Although not intended for use as a portable printer, it was easy to take along with my laptop, to the home of an older relative for whom I was doing some word processing. Including printing out 5 x 7 updated pages for her address/phone book. It was perfect for that project. Since that time, my older Canon multifunction inkjet machine bit the dust, and the new Canon multifunction inkjet I bought to replace it? Proved to be an unstable ink-gobbling diva and went back to Costco. As a result, this modest little printer has served as my main home printer for several weeks. I recently purchased a

> 3 dayIve only used it for print so far, and the quality is excellent. No mechanical problems. I would like the option to print from back to front (spend 30 minutes looking for the feature last night to no avail) because documents come out face up so you have to re-organize documents that print out.

Greater than one weekThis printer constantly feeds more than one page through at a time. This means that I have to reset it every one or two pages. I have yet to have it print more than 2 pages without jamming. It also uses up ink quickly and ink isnt cheap. I takes a long time to print. It defaults to printing 2 pages on a sheet. I would never buy this printer again, and probably wont buy a canon again because of the level of frustration I have with this printer.

> 3 dayGreat little printer for the money, but the cartridges do not last very long. They offer larger cartridges, but theyre pretty expensive too. When I went back to the store to get more ink cartridges, I realized that buying a new printer (which comes with cartridges and a small pack of photo paper) was about $4 less than buying the replacement cartridges. I felt a little guilty since its such a waste of resources (environmentally speaking), but thats Canons stupid fault for pricing things the way they have. Do they really think were not going to notice that the replacement ink cartridges cost more than we paid for the printer? Corporate America doing what it does best...wasting money. Had the two cartridges cost $25, I would have saved myself five bucks and gone on with my life. So I reluctantly bought another printer for $30 instead of paying $34 for the two little replacement cartridges. How could I not? That said, Im not the type to keep buying printers and putting them in closet or throwing them in the dumpster, so Ill be looking for an alternative soon, preferably from another company...but for the meanwhile, this one does the job just fine. Its just the principle that puts me off. Everything about the printer is great...looks awesome sitting next to my iMac too.

> 3 dayIve only used this printer a couple of times, but so far I love it. I love the overall appearance of the printer. The ink cartridges were a little hard to get in the first time, I almost gave up. Print quality is better than the previous printer I had. Very easy to set up. It does take awhile for it to begin printing documents, I wait almost a minute before it begins to print. Overall for the price and quality of printing, I would give this computer a B.

> 3 dayPrint quality is decent, but relatively slow and loud. My complaint is the feed mechanism. It sucks. It started by giving errors for no paper with a full paper tray, then started feeding paper crooked. If I want to print a page, itll take 10-12 tries to eventually get it right. Just terrible. Buy something else. Wish I had.

> 3 dayI purchased this printer and it stopped working after three months. Great timing since my warranty expired after a month or so. I took it to a repair shop and found it could not even be fixed because the AC adapter unit inside was faulty. I ended up throwing away a $50 printer, time, and money. Amazon was no help due to the warranty expiration. Research more carefully and youll be happier.

> 3 dayWhile went to buy the Ink for my HP Photosmart printer, I noticed this printer from Canon for just $30 and bought this one without any second thought ($30 is way cheaper than the HP inks). Installation went without an issue on my Vista PC, and I am not finding printing speed an issue. So far so good. I prefer to stay with Canon than HP for following reasons. 1) HP uses color ink even when choosing black printing. Though I print black and white prints, but HP makes me to buy color inks more often than b&w 2) HP expires the ink after some period. HP wants to generate constant money flow, but IMO this is not a way to do. Thanks Suriya.
