BEST GAME EVER. We really wanted to get this for a long time, and now finally are so happy we have it!!

Love this game. The only negative is the base game limits play to 4 people. I don’t throw parties for 4, so the extension pack was required.

Once we got the ball rolling, the family quickly adopted this game as the new favorite. Before sitting down to play, you have to separate each of the many game pieces. Be careful here and read the advice in the pamphlets that come with the game to prevent damaging the cardboard/paper pieces. I recommend that you sit with some YouTube videos on game play to understand how the game flows. We tried initially through just reading the documentation. It was ok, but once we watched a video we realized we mis-read some sections and the game flowed much better after the video. We have only played the game with the standard configuration (which balances the board), but there is the option to randomize the tiles. I think we will be moving to the randomized version to mix up the starting strategies the players keep repeating. Love that there are player expansion options available for purchase, as well.

Bought this game and my wife is now addicted to it. Only downside is that it takes a while to set up, and its not meant for two players. So you need a group to play.

Catan is definitely one of the best board games I have played in a while. It’s unique, fun, and overall an amazing experience! I highly recommend this and it is worth the price! Setup isn’t too hard and it isn’t that hard to learn either! 4 star for learning because it’s more complex than your normal board games but still easy enough to learn quickly! I also can’t wait to get my hands on all the expansions! (Just be gentle with popping out the tiles for setting it up in the box and you should be fine)

We got this game about 2 Months ago. Games are usually lasting 45 min to 1 1/3 hours. We don’t always want to spend 2 to 4 hours playing Monopoly. My kids are 12 and 14 and both love to play. We have been playing 2 to 5 games a week. It may not be a high level strategy game, but it is fun. We look forward to getting other variations.

I almost bought this game for $50 at a convention before a friend of mine thought I should check Amazon, and boy am I glad I followed her advice. This is a fantastic game, and getting it for almost half off makes it even more enjoyable. If you like board games at all, you NEED this game.

I bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday and we just love it. There is a slight learning curve and it is a game that you have to pay attention to but as long as you are committed to playing its easy to catch on. Playing time is about an hour or two depending on how may players. Shortly after purchasing the main game we bought the expansion pack so we can play with his family. Such a fun game!!!

Love this game! The package was in great shape and new. Hope to get many uses out of this game in the years to come.
