> 3 dayThis came with absolutely no instructions. Took a few minutes to realize that the sounder was screwed on to the bottom and that there was another piece that had to be unscrewed to open the battery compartment. I took a short piece of known good coax and attached the sounder to one end and the tester to the other. Got a loud tone signal and a red light. Without any instructions, I don t know what the red light means. What indication do I get if there is a short? 3 stars for low price and at least tests continuity. Cant tell if it tests shorts or not.

> 3 dayI fooled around with this for 15 minuter or so thinking I was missing a part. Battery did not fit either end. Then realized I had to unscrew a small part of bottom side... Mine was tight I had to put in vice and use pliers to get it off... came off hard all the way---I thought the threads would of been messed up but they were not... put some oil on it and it went right back together by hand... Worked fine after that...Bad Job on Threads.

Greater than one weekThe tester works well and I liked that fact that the buzzer was loud enough to hear in the attic with the speaker all the way across the house. I liked the LED for those times the buzzer is too far away to be heard.

Greater than one weekNeeded something to identify our new comstruction cable wiring. Pulled this out of package, inserted supplied battery, hooked it up to room jack and headed to the basement. 2nd stripped coax wire provided the tone needed! Done. Took me 2 mins to stip and ID the wire I needed! You do need to have an exposed copper center wire for it to work.

> 3 dayIm guessing the threads were precision cleaned, when I tried to unscrew the battery compartment, I had to use 2 pair of pliers, one to hold the body, and the other to turn the cap. Other than that, it worked perfectly, bu I took off one star as I had to scratch up the body to open it.
