This thing is so cool and it helped me with a mess of RG59 wiring pre-installed in my home to figure what is what. Only downfall would be lack of directions.

I have a bunch of Coax cable in a bifg distribution box in the wall. Every room of the house is cbled , but not one cable was marked/tagged. This tool allowed me to do the job quickly and easily at a very reasonable price.. I love it.

First, really easy to use. I have a coaxial and ethernet home, with lots of cables. It took only a few minutes to find the correct coaxial cable. Just plugged the pen portion into my cable jack for the TV in my basement, and took the speaker part and connected it to the various cables until I heard the tone. The speaker is threaded to the end of the pen, and just threads into the coaxial cable. When done, I removed the battery, assembled the parts, and placed into a zip lock sandwich bag, figuring it will be awhile before I need to use it again. I like that its compact, and simple.

Works great! Let me know which piece of coax was bad under my house instead of replacing all of them!

Right-angled connector detached from main body and cannot be used. This head connector should not have come off. To salvage from these parts, with pliers, the bulb and the tiny board where it’s attached can be pulled out. Replacing the connection from the detached head connector to the battery by soldering a new piece of insulated wire, the cable connectivity test can be done with the speaker as intended on a short coaxial cable and the speaker beeps. However, when used for testing coaxial cable in house, the tester does not work! The speaker does not beep. Probably total resistance from coaxial cable and speaker is too high and there is not enough current to drive the speaker. Further cutting the single piece of soldered insulated wire into 2 pieces and removing the light bulb from the tiny circuit board and putting the light bulb in series with the 2 pieces of wires and doing the connectivity test by looking at whether the light bulb lights up works, by not using the speaker at the other end but using a cheap coaxial cap instead (not part of components here).

It does what it should. Used it to identify the cables in my new house. Spent less than an hour to check them all. The case design is very solid (its metal). I think this device will serve me until I lose it somehow :) I dont see how it can mechanically or electrically break.

all good, works fine my only issue having never needed something like this before has been to understand how to use it, how to disassemble all parts, then all fine.
