Had to play with how tight the battery was screwed in to make it work, once I figured that out I was able to use it on 15 coax in my house

Product worked as advertised. only con is the female connector is a little to big, when using it you have to hold it on the connection to work.

Had to trace wire thru new to me motorhome. Hooked to wire going from my portable satellite and You get a weak red light, as I was checking wires, most were strong red lights meaning from a plugged in tv. Kept going following the weak red light and figured it out. Now satellite in the main tv. Mine had an old satellite system on the roof with plenty of wires. This is what I needed to figure out the mess

The red light is supposed to indicate shorted circuits but it shines on good circuits, too. A short piece of coax thats known to be good verified this so deducting 1 star. Otherwise, this unit works as described. There are no instructions but its not hard to figure out. Insert battery. Screw one end to a run of coax. Insert the tool into the other end of the same cable. Alarm should sound. If it doesnt then you havent found the correct end of the coax yet.

First, really easy to use. I have a coaxial and ethernet home, with lots of cables. It took only a few minutes to find the correct coaxial cable. Just plugged the pen portion into my cable jack for the TV in my basement, and took the speaker part and connected it to the various cables until I heard the tone. The speaker is threaded to the end of the pen, and just threads into the coaxial cable. When done, I removed the battery, assembled the parts, and placed into a zip lock sandwich bag, figuring it will be awhile before I need to use it again. I like that its compact, and simple.

Im guessing the threads were precision cleaned, when I tried to unscrew the battery compartment, I had to use 2 pair of pliers, one to hold the body, and the other to turn the cap. Other than that, it worked perfectly, bu I took off one star as I had to scratch up the body to open it.

I bought this becuase my sister had no idea what wire led to which room in her house. You hook one end up to the wire outside and the beeper end to any room (or vice versa) and start testing. Of course it takes two people (one at each location) but you will soon be able to label your wires accordingly. I even tested it on a coax that was 600 feet long and the signal had no problem traveling down the wire. Great little tool.

I dont know how often will I use this, but I needed to identify the cables going to different rooms. It took me like 5 minutes to do them all. I guess unless you work for the cable company, youll not use it that much, but is one of those things it will pay itself the one time you need it.

Worked perfect. Only way to find the end of a coax cable that your not sure where it goes.

Simple to use. Easy to trace down 5 coax lines through the house to know they are working and to get their location properly labeled! Audio and LED indicator is a dream! Perfect tool to ALWAYS have around the house!!
