> 3 dayThere should be a special hell for installers who do not label coax cable! There were 7 cables coming out of my attic to a splitter, and I had no clue which went to a particular room. This handy gadget quickly solved the mystery for me; screw the tone piece on one end and apply the piece with the battery to the other end of the cable. If you hear a loud tone, label that cable right now! If not, keep testing until you find the correct cable. Its one of those items you may only need once in your lifetime, so I was glad the price was reasonable.

> 3 dayIt does what it is supposed to do. Only drawback is that the plastic case it comes in does not have a lid to keep everything from falling out. Not a tool that can just be tossed in your toolbox for later.

Greater than one weekThis device saved me hours of work and helped me complete an enormous home re-cabling project! I would recommend a special packaging note about no signal trace through splitters. This is the top tool I will always have when dealing with coax cabling!

> 3 dayI usually use a Klein scout to tone/test coax but this tool comes in handy for toneing wires quickly. The press on connection makes it a breeze to click through multiple wires to find the one your looking for. It doesnt replace a full blown tester/generated but at the price its worth adding to your tool bag.

> 3 dayHad to trace wire thru new to me motorhome. Hooked to wire going from my portable satellite and You get a weak red light, as I was checking wires, most were strong red lights meaning from a plugged in tv. Kept going following the weak red light and figured it out. Now satellite in the main tv. Mine had an old satellite system on the roof with plenty of wires. This is what I needed to figure out the mess

> 3 dayMy house has a bunch of coax cables from various rooms that terminate in a closet. I needed to identify where each went to. I simply attached the sender to an outlet in a room and then checked each cable with the receiver. It worked perfectly. When I found the right cable it emitted. beep. It worked perfectly and is reasonably priced.

Greater than one weekAfter troubleshooting because the item wouldnt work, we noticed in one of the pictures of the item displayed on Amazon that there was supposed to be a spring near the battery connection. That spring is not in ours. When we put a piece of foil in there, it worked. Also the machining on the item was so tight that it took 2 pairs of vice grips to get the battery compartment open.
