Greater than one weekThe fabric used in the umbrella is perfect, however, the ventilation of the umbrella is practically nonexistent. This umbrella cannot be used in the wind. It turns inside out very easily and is a hassle to use. It’s really only useful on a virtually windless day. You couldn’t use this at the beach at all. I used it on a walk in my hometown (not near the coast) on a spring day with mild winds and it turned inside out several times. I haven’t used it since, so it was a waste of money.

05-06-2025I wish I had something good to say, but I dont. I was so looking forward to using this umbrella, the summers here in Las Vegas are brutal. The problem with is umbrella is it flips inside out in a breeze and I not talking about a heavy duty breeze. I had to hold the strap to keep it from flipping, to no avail, it flip and broke the spine or struts or whatever their called, one of them just snapped, no support no good. I could try to super glue it, but that wont solve the main problem it flips constantly. I want to return it, but Coolibar.com wont except it, third party and Amazon wont pass 30 days, now I stuck with a piece of useless junk. I did read the reviews and I didnt see this issue, so I just say buyer beware.

> 3 dayIt really is SIGNIFICANTLY cooler under one of these! Great product. If it wasnt so bulky id still be using it. I switched to the EuroSchirm Lite Trek umbrella instead. But my husband absolutely loves his Coolibar.

> 3 dayThe umbrella looks pretty nice. Once its folded up, the strap fastened and in its included sleeve its very handy to keep in the cars glove box and should fit in most purses pretty easily. The good: Looks great. Compact, the included sleeve makes it pack up very nicely. The bad: Very flimsy. I dont believe this was made for rain... with rain usually comes some wind and all the hard parts are made of cheap plastic, INCLUDING the handle and rod going to the top. There are 8 total ribs, but they are extremely weak. Do NOT buy if you want to use it for good rain protection, because a tiny bit of wind and it will collapse or break. Its not a big umbrella, so when the edges collapse in to where you see the second dome in the face of wind, your rain protection will be very small. The end of the ribs look like theyre made of an exceptionally weak fishing rod, because they bend easily and the rest of the ribs are plastic and thin, so even if they wouldnt bend the whole thing would just break anyway, so the designers im sure figured itd be better to not be functional in wind than to break entirely. Final thought: The only thing this is good for is for protection from the sun on calm days or light rain with little wind. If you need it for that, its a great umbrella, but dont bother for stormy weather. If Coolibar wants to make a great umbrella, they should really actually make certain parts out of Titanium so it lives up to its name in more than just color.

> 3 dayI dont want to be quarreling by responding to previous comments regarding this made in China stuff and its quality. The first thing is that the manufacturer doesnt decide how something is made and how good it is. Its the company in US that makes deal with Chinese factories because of their cheap labor expense. keep judging things regarding where something is made is just too redneck. so I dont think its the reason for the umbrellas quality. Tell Coolibar what you think about this umbrellas designd instead of offending others with ignorant complains. Ive been used to the idea of sun umbrella which means not for rainy and windy days. I read all comments before I made the purchase. Now I have been using the umbrella for weeks under Texas sun and it feels so much better with a walking shade. its not huge, but sufficient for individuals. make sure you face the exterior towards wind, and it should be ok. I like the deep shade it provides; really cools you down. its easy to pack to go, but if you want a more solid one get the golf umbrella.

> 3 dayThe umbrella was small and did not offer much protection from the sun, and the material caught the wind easily, making it difficult to hold on to.

> 3 dayThis is fantastic! An absolute must have for the very sunny location where I live - my skin is so fair, and even with sunscreen I need a bit more shade from the constant glare. I walk everywhere in town and this provides a perfect pool of portable shade, and my head doesnt get hot from wearing a hat. Occasionally it has rained and this works well for that too.
