> 3 dayI am serious about my sun protection and use a lot of clothing with built-in SPF because I realize that sunscreen often makes me have a rash or just doesn’t work. I bought this to use while in the Bahamas. It is a nice looking umbrella but there are some design flaws that I think could be improved. One, once you open it, it does not fit back in its cover. Two, it needs a longer handle with a different way of holding it rather than just the knob. A curved handle would be more comfortable to use for longer stretches.. The entire handle is just a bit too short. Three, it does flip very easily with not much of a breeze. However, I still like to use it because it does keep me out of the sun. I do recommend it if you are like me and want every option for staying out of the sun but I would like to see some improvements to that design.

> 3 dayMy wife uses this all the time, as we live in a tropical country with blazing sun. My wife calls it her portable shade tree. I feel a definite and immediately noticeable difference between being under its shade and without it. I recommend the silver one hands down! She could have bought the black one but doesnt like the color. Also, she is used to the silver one and knows that she likes it.

> 3 dayThe only choice when you need an umbrella to block the sun. They really work and I actually found myself chilly when walking underneath this umbrella in May in Central Florida. As a skin cancer survivor I keep this with me all the time when I am out in the sun and it conveniently fits in my purse or bag when I no longer need it. It is worth the money!

> 3 dayI really love this umbrella. I have used it for sun protection, and its like having my own little tree shading me! It keeps me cooler and protects my arms and chest as well as my face. Every time I open it up, I think how awesome it is! It did take me some time to get used to how it opens and closes. In fact, the first day I used it, I was running to catch the bus, and I tripped as I was trying to close the umbrella. I did fall, but the umbrella was still okay. (And so was I.) So I can say that it is quite durable! I wish it were a little more compact, so it would be easier to carry around. I really only bring it with me when I know I will be out in the sun for long periods of time. If it were lighter and smaller, I could ust always have it with me, ust in case! I do think it was a great purchase and I am very happy with it.

> 3 dayThe fabric used in the umbrella is perfect, however, the ventilation of the umbrella is practically nonexistent. This umbrella cannot be used in the wind. It turns inside out very easily and is a hassle to use. It’s really only useful on a virtually windless day. You couldn’t use this at the beach at all. I used it on a walk in my hometown (not near the coast) on a spring day with mild winds and it turned inside out several times. I haven’t used it since, so it was a waste of money.

> 3 dayI liked this umbrella for sun protection, but the quality is just not there. I used it for less than three months before the open/close mechanism fell apart and the umbrella went in the trash. With such a short life span, this is definitely overpriced. As others have said, it also does not withstand wind of any kind. Pretty disappointed, but still gave it 3 stars since it does a good job of protecting from sun and heat.

> 3 dayFirst, the width is great, its slightly bigger than a travel umbrella when open and not as concave as a rain umbrella, its a little flatter. The color is beautiful. The photos dont show it but the underside is the matte silver material that bounces light and heat. When youre walking you think its a nice beautiful day under your umbrella. Youre extremely comfortable. After a few minutes you try to figure out why your legs are hot. Are you walking too much? Are you standing too much and now the blood is rushing downwards? What is wrong with your feet? Its the temperature difference between what is under the umbrella and what is not under the umbrella, its *that different*. It work well...almost too well!

> 3 dayI’ve used this umbrella for a total of 60 days of travel in Europe and the Middle East. It has just started to show wear. It is very wind tolerant and offers tremendous protection from the sun’s u.v. rays, but a MAJOR side advantage when in the sun for any length of time, is it is considerably cooler under it! Makes walking around outdoor tourist sites imminently more enjoyable!

> 3 dayYou can really feel the difference under the umbrella during the sunny days. Unlike other umbrellas that can magnify the heat under the cover, with this one you can really feel that there is less heat and the UV protection is great. BUT this is NOT A WIND RESISTANT umbrella. Just a little gust of wind will flip this upside down. However, I bought this for the sun protection it offers so I am happy and bought another one when it went on sale.

Greater than one weekI love my Coolibar umbrella! I could not wait to get it out of the box and immediately use it on my long walk to the market. I started carrying an umbrella/parasol a couple of years ago, in addition to wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat Since then I have seen a few others pick up on this sensible idea. Most of the others were Asian woman. I was so glad to find this Coolibar titanium umbrella that had UV protection in a portable size. Not only is it convenient, it is not too heavy, and looks smart with every possible outfit. I also like the hunter green lining. Reminds me of the traditional dark green porch and beach umbrellas that I remember fondly from my childhood. This umbrella is chic, practical and makes a statement that you are an intelligent self-protective person. I love carrying it. It keeps me cool under a blazing hot southern sun. It stores easily it its own case and fits nicely into a tote bag when indoors.
