Only heard good things about Coolibar umbrellas. Given I would be working with youth in the desert figured I’d make the purchase. Pro’s: it does shade really well Con’s: slightest wind and it blows up, the handle is rather short so holding its chest level it will sit on your head, the shaft of the umbrella wiggles Over all the sun shade part is great, the rest of the umbrella is poor quality

Great umbrella, easy to travel with. it was nearly 100 degrees the other day and I was so thankful to have respite from the heat. A few people stopped me to ask where they could get this umbrella because everyone was wilting in the heat and I was in the shade! It was still hot but the sun was not beating down on me like it would have been if I hadnt had this umbrella.

Excellent protection from the hot sun of the south

The only choice when you need an umbrella to block the sun. They really work and I actually found myself chilly when walking underneath this umbrella in May in Central Florida. As a skin cancer survivor I keep this with me all the time when I am out in the sun and it conveniently fits in my purse or bag when I no longer need it. It is worth the money!

I really like this umbrella. It fits in my purse and its light enough to take with me on day trips. Its nice to have in case I find myself in a sunny spot. My only gripe is that its a bit difficult to close-I need to use both hands. But thats a minor complaint for a great product. Im really glad I bought it. I will be getting a lot of use from it this summer. I also purchased Coolibars large sun umbrella and Im very happy with that as well.

Bought this umbrella Oct 2012 for month-long India trip and used daily. Hate sunblock and can get away with less because this provides so much protection. Seems to lower outside temp by 10-15 degrees, so not only protected but also lot cooler. Taken it on multiple international trips since and, in fact, currently on 10-day Jordan trip (Dead Sea today) and lifesaver yet again, given constant sun/heat. But this has been my go-to umbrella since purchase. Live in New England and have used it for rain, snow, sleet, sun. Its beginning to show some wear/tear, partly because of the nature of the silver coating and also Im not careful with it at all. Rarely use protective cover, as I should. Im giving it 4 star, but 4.5 if I could, but not 5 stars because it isnt perfect. A bit heavy and does turn inside out in high winds, but I can live with both minuses. When this one wears out, will buy another and try to protect it more.

The fabric used in the umbrella is perfect, however, the ventilation of the umbrella is practically nonexistent. This umbrella cannot be used in the wind. It turns inside out very easily and is a hassle to use. It’s really only useful on a virtually windless day. You couldn’t use this at the beach at all. I used it on a walk in my hometown (not near the coast) on a spring day with mild winds and it turned inside out several times. I haven’t used it since, so it was a waste of money.

I’ve used this umbrella for a total of 60 days of travel in Europe and the Middle East. It has just started to show wear. It is very wind tolerant and offers tremendous protection from the sun’s u.v. rays, but a MAJOR side advantage when in the sun for any length of time, is it is considerably cooler under it! Makes walking around outdoor tourist sites imminently more enjoyable!

This umbrella made sunny, 90-degree days in a theme park completely bearable. It definitely felt significantly cooler under the umbrella, and it even kept us from getting burned at the beach. We encountered some windy weather, and though the umbrella blew inside-out a few times, it always slid easily back to the right way. It opened and closed easily dozens of times.
