> 3 dayAt first I bought this monitor just as a temporary monitor until I buy a legit, bigger monitor because I was planning on using dual monitors and use this one as a sub monitor since it can pivot and rotate 180. A month after I got this DELL monitor I bought BENQ gaming monitor. As I planned, I started using BENQ as a main and this one as a sub (rotated). However, while I was playing bunch of 3D steam games, (resident evil 6, witcher 3 etc) I realized that this DELL monitor was the real bad-ass. Of course BENQs bigger, but the color is just not as good as that of DELLs. Ive been using the standard stock setting for my DELL monitor and the clearness, sharpness and color temperature blah blah (I dont know much about this color related jargon so Imma just skip) are JUST SOOOOOOOO Amazing and WAAAAAy better. I have tried every single options for the BenQ monitor (Hue Temp Contrast Saturation bla bla whateva) but It never had same amazing feeling as Dells heavenly screen. I dont even know how to put this but its like watching DELLs monitor is like looking at a nicely cut chocolate squares while watching other monitors are like watching the same thing but all melted and squashed.. I mean this monitor is not even ULTRA SHARP model yet it has the best screen quality and color I have ever experienced. Bottom line, I ended up using this as a main monitor and the bigger gaming monitor as a sub monitor on the side.. cause I would rather play games with smaller screen with better quality than bigger, less fine quality. So I guess that pretty much explains how freakin awesome this monitor is. It was on sale and I got this for $159, and I think this monitor worth way more than that. I would even pay $300 for this monitor if I break mine and have to buy again (and if the price went up). Dont hesitate and just buy this. U WONT REGRET!

> 3 dayPerfect size for desktop use. Plenty big and yet not so large as to make you constantly have to turn your head to view. Excellent brightness control and color is perfect as far as I can see. No flickering or image problems at all. I have used larger screens and they were just too massive for me. All cables thread through post if you like. USB ports work as expected, of course I would like more, but there are enough. I highly recommend this monitor for desktop/keyboard set ups.

06-06-2025Perfect for what I need. I bought two to use on my workstation, and love all the features. I just need to buy longer cables so I can rotate them while using my desk setup... theyre not quite long enough to rotate without needing to move the tower so the cables work. I love being able to easily adjust the brightness for bright or dark days (depending on how much light comes in through the windows).

> 3 dayAs a programmer, Ive been using a combination of a 30 monitor and a 20 monitor for years. This combination works great because the 1600 pixel height of the 30 monitor matches up perfectly with the 1600 pixel width of the 20 monitors. Recently, I decided to setup a similar setup at my shop - and purchased a

> 3 dayThe display (mines an A00 rev) has pretty uniform brightness and respectable color reproduction for the price range ($200 plus or minus $20) especially with calibration. I dont have the yellow tint issues others are reporting; that sounds to me like a warranty-replaceable defect. There is IPS glow but its unobtrusive. The backlight is non-PWM, that is to say the brightness is controlled via direct current, so people sensitive to backlight flicker will notice none on this monitor. Input lag is unnoticeable to me (under 6 ms) and theres minimal ghosting. About the only improvement gaming-wise would be faster refresh rate, but thats still largely the domain of TN panels. I do notice more fluidity in the 144 Hz Asus VG248QE when playing twitchy shooters (e.g. CS:GO) but unless youre really into your shooters, 60 Hz panels like the P2414H are fine. For other genres this display is excellent. The OSD and physical buttons are utilitarian and straightforward; they do their job well. I appreciate the ability to turn off the powered on indicator LED. The stand is not the most robust ever created but its entirely serviceable; it looks nice, its sturdy, and its easily attached to and removed from the monitor. Adjustments are all straightforward and easy to manipulate (theres tilt, swivel, rotate, and height adjustment). It looks nice in portrait or landscape. A 100 mm VESA mount is present, too. For about $100 more one can get the U2414H (Ultrasharp) which is very similar to this monitor in terms of the display characteristics and stand but has thinner bezels on the top and sides, 4x USB 3.0 ports and HDMI inputs (among other differences). I didnt need any of those things so Im content with the P2414H.

> 3 dayI used this monitor mainly as a secondary monitor. Easy to assemble. (I was able to do it with one hand.) Tilt and rotate are also easy. If you rotate it 90 degrees, be sure to switch the orientation under Windowss display settings. (I am familiar with manipulating Windows settings, but I noticed the monitor did not come with instructions on how to perform this action.) Text is more clearer than my Toshiba 24 1080p TV (model 24SL410U). Since the response time was only 8 ms, I was expecting some ghosting while playing games (Skyrim, Far Cry 4, etc.) . However, I never experienced any ghosting. The only thing I would improve on this monitor is to move the USB port on the back to either side of the monitor.

> 3 dayIve been using three of these for a few months now and Im very happy with them. I mostly use them for programming and gaming. They look great and I love being able to change their orientation easily. Portrait orientation is great for reading long documents or looking at source code, and the tilt and height adjustment is helpful to keep them in a comfortable position. I can easily view 3-5 source code files side by side on each of them. I mostly play Counter Strike and have not noticed any input lag, and Im pretty picky about that. There is no splash screen when you turn the monitors on. I like how configurable the monitor settings are. For example, you can make the power LED stay off while the monitor is on. I think smaller monitors (maybe 21 or 22 inch) might work better for a triple monitor setup because you wouldnt have to turn your head as much and they would take up less desk space, but these are great if you have a big desk. I have not been able to drive any of these monitors over VGA (I tried all 3 of the cables that came with them). The screen flickers and looks really bad. VGA isnt really meant to drive resolutions this high though, and it isnt a problem for me.

> 3 dayI spent the last month studying monitors in the 23-24 range and finally settled on this unit, as I have good luck with Dell monitors. My primary use is home applications and gaming (Crysis, Sins of a Solar Empire, Star Craft, etc...). Out of the box it came nearly completely calibrated...only very minor updates made. Nice clean look and terrific flexibility in the stand (tilt, height, swivel, horizontal to vertical). Also considered the mid-range of Asus, HP, Dell, and BenQ.

> 3 dayI was one of the unlucky few who purchased this monitor and got an old model with a BGR subpixel layout. 99 percent of monitors on the market today use an RGB subpixel layout as a standard. For some reason, earlier versions of the P2214H shipped with a BGR layout, which means that text is going to look blurry without some work. For Windows users, this means adjusting your ClearType settings, but unfortunately it also means hoping that the Web browser you use is compatible with BGR subpixels. Chrome users should take note as the browsers DirectWrite font rendering engine is only compatible with RGB. For Mac users, your only option is to mount the monitor upside-down, which requires you to disassemble part of the monitors stand and reattach it flipped. Of course this also means that you lose any aesthetic quality the monitor had. My understanding through research is that newer models of this monitor shipped with RGB panels as a standard; however, I purchased mine from Amazon during the first week of February 2015. So just because the newer monitors have RGB panels does not mean that you will get one if you purchase it from here. I am extremely disappointed in this transaction, considering that it is otherwise a well-built monitor.

> 3 dayThe display is excellent! Love the adjustable height! Be aware that the old HDMI socket from your laptop does NOT connect directly to the display. Well, it doesnt if you have a Lenovo U400 or a 2015 Mac Mini. The plug is similar looking but is about 1 mm too wide and absolutely will not fit into the HDMI port. (I cant be the only one who realized the plug was a different size after 5 tries. :-) ) The connection problem was easily solved by getting an adapter. (Shout out to the sales guy at Microcenter who looked at a photo of the cable an plucked what I needed off the shelf.
