> 24 hourThese are incredible! Vivid colors, they blend beautifully, and are perfect for animals and landscapes. I use these in conjunction with Derwent Inktense Pencils and, of course, Prismacolors. They go perfectly well with either. They go down very similarly to standard pencils, with an almost chalky feel, but on the paper they are incredibly smooth (Ive managed to get an almost painterly finish without a wash, especially with the lighter colors). If you draw animals, deserts, alien landscapes, or dark places, this will be an amazing set for you.

> 24 hourFur, feather, and nature lovers rejoice..! For years, I had used Derwents Chinese White colored pencil, because it was both opaque and lightfast. Then, about a month ago, I was watching some videos by an amazing artist, where she was using some of the other Derwent colored drawing pencils. I ordered and received them in perfect condition. They blend beautifully, and can be used with oms or powder blender. Theyre priced well, also.

> 24 hourWrote a long review on these with my first purchase of 6.. so it should tell ya I loved them. These are so different than any drawing pencil or colored pencil. They feel like Holbein more than anything else. However, these are more like a hard oil pastel encased in a pencil. They are tacky more than gritty and the result is very dark pigmented lines and are so so nice. Wish they had these in all their colors!

> 24 hourThe best pencils I have come across. They are very creamy and blend very well. I really love these pencils.

> 24 hourI ordered the Derwent Drawing pencils and I am so disappointed with the packaging. The tin of pencils were wrapped at all. They were loose in a white bag. The bag wasnt even sealed. They had a very hard blow because the back of the tin is dented a lot. Then pencils look okay but is the lead all broken inside the shaft? That I wont know until I start using them. I wont buy pencils like this again from Amazon.

> 24 hourBeautiful color selection for landscapes. The pigment is saturated, and blending is smooth.

> 24 hourLove these pencils; so smooth and great for layering. The only complaint I have is the small color range.

> 24 hourI have only ever used Derwents inktense pencils, blocks, and watercolor pencils, so when I saw these lovely pencils in greys, neutrals, and browns, I purchased them. I purchased these pencils for a series of drawings of small, local wildlife, including squirrels, pigeons, and raccoons. I think that they will work out wonderfully. The colors are basically greys and browns, in subtle and beautiful, soft shades. The blue and green color names are really descriptors for different grey shades. The lighter shades seem to be very opaque and the pencils seem very buttery. I am really looking forward to using these although I suspect I will be doing a great deal of sharpening. With some added vivid/deeper colors, these pencils would be wonderful for Northern landscapes or seascapes. Great product, Derwent!
