> 24 hourThese are a complete set of earth tones. Greys, browns, muted greens and blues, ocher, reddish browns, black and white. They complement other sets of color pencils I have. Wider lead (5mm?), sharpens well, blends with other wax or oil based colors. Excellent for setting up backgrounds in natural scenes and subjects. A keeper I will order again when used up.

> 24 hourThese pencils are super awesome, theyre soft, their pigments are reall strong, and they can almost draw in any surface, but, a tip for the artist would be, if youre going to use these pencils to retouch finalized Acrylic, Watercolor, Gouache or Oil illustrations, please, let the Illustration dry well, apply a nice MATTE Workable varnish over the work (I use the matte medium from Liquitex, and I apply it diluted with water, with an airbrush) and work with these amazing pencils over it, then the magic will happens, as the tooth you have created with the Varnish/Matte medium is the PERFECT surface for these pencils to do their wonder!

> 24 hourVery creamy but still holds just enough point to get some detail. The colors are great for autumn landscapes. A very enjoyable set.

> 24 hourThe colors of these pencils seem to be biased toward the weather in England, which is almost always rainy or overcast. If I didnt purchase them quickly on a whim, I might not have gotten them at all. Of course, they are made in the U.K., but it appears that they are marketed everywhere.

> 24 hourThese are interesting to work with. To me, they feel like a cross between coloring pencils and pastel pencils. In a way, they feel a little like graphite but harder. The color range is earthy and great for landscapes. I have so many Derwent products and am glad to add this to my collection.

> 24 hourThe colors are definitely geared toward nature and landscapes, and how wonderful it is to know that EACH pencil is lightfast!! Although they are called drawing pencils, they blend beautifully with traditional colored pencil, both oil-based and wax-based. Using odorless mineral spirits is not a problem and you will find that the white pencil is one of the most opaque, right up there with Prismacolor and Luminance whites. On the downside there are only 24 colors and the pencil will not sharpen to a fine point. These pencils are not for fine detailing---but considering the lightfastness and the natural colors, they are most definitely a great buy!.
