> 3 dayThese are interesting to work with. To me, they feel like a cross between coloring pencils and pastel pencils. In a way, they feel a little like graphite but harder. The color range is earthy and great for landscapes. I have so many Derwent products and am glad to add this to my collection.

Greater than one weekI love these; discovered them after falling in love with the Derwent Lightfast pencils. These work well in conjunction with the Lightfast, Prismacolors, Polychromos and on top of alcohol markers. Blendability is wonderful, and the Chinese White is my new favorite white pencil. Just outstanding. Lovely, lovely pencils!

> 3 dayI can see why these pencils are called fur and feather pencils. They very soft almost like pastel pencil. They are softer than Prismacolor Premier which I have and like very much. These seem to have less binder/wax than other color pencils. The color set covers most of the warm and cool colors of most animals coats. So if you are going to drawn animals this is a great set to have. To try them out I drew the head of the fox on the cover of the tin and was easily able to achieve the same look and I am not a professional artist by any means. There are not any bright colors like red or bright blue for certain birds however. They are mostly muted colors. I bought them to draw animals so I like these very much for that task. Be sure the check out the color bar or Derwents color chart on their website before buying these to make sure this is the color set you really want.

> 3 dayIn the recent past, I purchased a few Derwent Drawing pencils open stock through Jacksons Art in the UK. I liked them so well I decided to purchase the 24-pencil set because I love working with natural, muted colors. However, upon opening the tin today I was concerned that (1) either the manufacturing quality has gone downhill or (2) the set I received are 2nds. The open stock pencils I purchased previously are creamy when laying down the color. This is not the case with at least half of the set I received today. Those pencils are quite dry and scratchy on the page. The second concern is cosmetic but makes me wonder about the set. Each Derwent Drawing pencil has information imprinted in White lettering on the pencil which includes the following; England and Derwent Drawing, as well as the color name and color number. On a majority of the pencils, the ink is smeared and blurry/sloppy; so much so that a couple of the color names are difficult to read. I was expecting the same high quality as the open stock pencils and am greatly disappointed.

> 3 dayI love these pencils. They are so creamy and they blend so well. I do wish there were a few more colors. However, I find they do work well with others pencils.

> 3 dayVery nice, beautiful subtle colors. I bought the chinese white to use for highlights. I thought Why not try the whole set? Glad I did.

> 3 dayYou know the rest. You’d get a Derwent drawing pencil that leaned more toward the mother’s colored pencil side. Blends nicely without mineral spirits but who wants nice when you could have amazing?

Greater than one weekThe colors of these pencils seem to be biased toward the weather in England, which is almost always rainy or overcast. If I didnt purchase them quickly on a whim, I might not have gotten them at all. Of course, they are made in the U.K., but it appears that they are marketed everywhere.

> 3 dayThese drawing pencils are wonderful. I use them in my coloring books. The colors are great and I love the choice of colors. Just to bad they are just 24 colors.
