> 3 dayI sculpt with metal, mainly found steel, and use flap discs in the finishing process often on very rough surfaces. These discs are workhorses, work rapidly and produce fine finishes

> 3 dayI have always used these types of grinding discs for cleaning up metal surfaces. They dont chatter and when light pressure is applied the surface is polished. They work better and last longer is pressure is kept to a minimum so the work piece doesnt heat up, even just the pressure of the grinder is enough as these discs remove material quite fast.

> 3 dayGreat item, works as directed. One thing I could not find on the disk is the expiration date. I thought all discs had them.

> 3 dayUsed a few of these flat wheels to refurbish a rusty mower. Worked slick and so much better then a flexible abrasive disc. Anyone with a 4-1/2 grinder should have a few of these to go with the other discs.

Greater than one weekIf you are working around the garage it works out ok. If your into heavy fabrication and welding you might want to keep looking and spend a little more money.

> 3 dayThey grind down material real fast (and make a LOT of dust). They hold up pretty good as well. I just used one one two different flooring jobs with particleboard subflooring. One was a 9 to 10 inch wide, and 1/4 inch high ring around a toilet flange., it ground down in minutes. The second was a spot where a customers dog would wet the floor under a desk. It was circular about twenty inches in diameter and 3/8 inches high in places. The same disk leveled it out in minutes as well. The disk looked like it had more life in it, but I pitched it anyway (it stank like dog urine).
