Greater than one weekBought this flap disc sanding wheel to specifically work with the Makita dust shield that I am using on a cheap Kawasaki 4 1/2 variable speed grinder that I got on Amazon. The dust shield attaches to my vacuum and really helps keep the dust down when Im grinding on fiberglass.

> 3 dayThey grind down material real fast (and make a LOT of dust). They hold up pretty good as well. I just used one one two different flooring jobs with particleboard subflooring. One was a 9 to 10 inch wide, and 1/4 inch high ring around a toilet flange., it ground down in minutes. The second was a spot where a customers dog would wet the floor under a desk. It was circular about twenty inches in diameter and 3/8 inches high in places. The same disk leveled it out in minutes as well. The disk looked like it had more life in it, but I pitched it anyway (it stank like dog urine).

> 3 dayI use this item for wood shaping and find its is not any better than the Ace Hardware version which is $1.50 less. So if you are trying to save a buck then reconsider your options. They both wear out within a half an hour of steady use. I would think it would be the same on metal for rust and paint removal.

> 3 dayIm serious about blade care and these discs are the best way to hone a blade without taking off too much material. They last a long time and are easy to work with.

12-06-2025For my money I always go with DeWalt. These remove material fast and last a long tim compared to other brands. Ive tried a lot of different makes and DeWalt seems to work the best so far. Their cutting/grinding stones are also great.

> 3 dayBought this to sharpen my mower blades, based on a YouTube video I saw. These work so much better than a grinding wheel. Fast and easy sharpening, wish I had bought these years ago.
