> 3 dayIm working on 120 linear feet of tumbled rock wall topped by granite caps. I bought these to soften some edges on the caps and had high hopes before they arrived. However, I was severely disappointed when I opened the box. First, on the plus side, the pieces were all there and the packaging was fine. That said, the pads didnt look right as they seemed to be missing the diamond specs. My first test was to close my eyes and rub my fingers across the pads. I literally could not tell the difference between the 50 grit pad and the 6000 grit pad. Anyone who has used both will get right away that doesnt bode well for effectiveness. Ive never experienced that before, and it was not a great confidence builder. I decided I might as well try the pads to see if maybe they had invented a diamond pad where actual abrasion wasnt important to them working -- Always the optimist. I went ahead and used the 50 grit pad. However, after a few minutes I had precious little dust, let alone any material removal. Net, maybe their 50 grit is useful as a 3000 grit replacement. However, if you are actually looking to use any of the 50 grit to perhaps 1500 grit pads, I would avoid this. IMHO.

24-11-2024I recently did a kitchen remodel with granite tile counter tops. What I didnt realize at first was that the sides of the tiles werent polished. I looked up suggestions online and saw products like this were a good option, but also saw theyre recommended for drills at 3-4k rpm. My cordless drill does 1600 and my cordless drill does 2000 rpm. Im on a budget and couldnt afford to buy or rent a really high powered drill, but figured Id take a chance with my corded drill and these pads. I bought an attachment for my drill with a 3 velcro pad to attach these to. What I found was that even with the subpar equipment I was using, these pads worked beautifully! I installed black granite tiles and the edges that had been kind of a medium gray polished up very well. Theyre not perfect mind you, but Ill chalk that up to the fact my drill was just under 50% under powered. If I had a better drill and used the pads wet, Im confident the polish would have turned out even better. For what these cost and the equipment I used, I couldnt be more pleased.

> 3 dayI love it?... well, sort of. They work and very well. I have a really nice new counter top with bullnosed and finely polished edges... thanks, in no small part, to these. Plus, 100sf of granite and they seem like new. The downside? Man that was ALOT of work and time. Still, I cant deduct because the finish was perfect.

> 3 dayFor the price performance is good. Dry pads almost always leave a bit to be desired, but I was impressed at the level of performance given the price. We will see how long they last...

> 3 dayVery glad I didnt listen to the negative comments if you read the instructions and do as it says these pads will last you a very long time. Get yourself a polisher that runs up to 3500 RPMs and youre golden pick yourself up one from Harbor Freight that goes from 0 to 3500 and cost you a whole $35. The only way I can see these pads going flying is if youre using a high-powered grinder which it says not to my only suggestion is if you plan to seal your counters only go to about 150 Grit depending on the sealer or the surface will be too slick for it to adhere to itll just come up after its dry. If you want super smooth and go all the way up to 3000 I would get a penetrating spray sealer. And if your counters are in the house prepare for a mess

Greater than one weekI used these pads for the edges of marble tile for my counter top. The grittier pads (50 100 400) worked well however the fine grit pads ( 800 and up) gummed up and left black residue on the tile and pads. I had to repeatedly stop and use wd-40 to clean the pads and marble from the black residue. Im not sure if this is caused by a high rpm grinder or the fact that I was working on an edge as opposed to a flat surface. But, the sheen on the edge of the tiles now match the factory surface, so Im happy with the final product but the pads need to be thrown out.

> 3 dayBacking pad was missing. Probably due to the box being ripped open and the sanding disk all out in the package

> 3 dayThese were great and did the job for a fraction of the price of having it done at a custom shop. I just ran a low water trickle when using the 400+grit. Takes a little while to do but so worth the effort for all that $ savings. Make sure to keep a low RPM on the polisher and the pads stay on the polishing disk/attachment without flying off. However do wear all the necessary eye/nose/etc. protection!
