> 3 dayWorks great! Value priced! Temp contoller seems to be spot on. Way better than those sub 50w units and very much worth the extra cost.

> 3 dayAs described. Well packaged, and the difference of using this iron versus the typical $15-$25 units is amazing. I did a lot of pondering before deciding to get this particular model and the Hakko brand. I was not disappointed. Excellent quality, and worked perfect out of the box.

> 3 dayThis is my first soldering station, before I worked with ugly soldering iron - no temperature control, no tips, no fun, just brutal power. This item absolutely different, very well made, excellent instruction on website about soldering. Recommended for reading, very helpful and interesting for beginners and hobbyist! Temperature control works good, checked with temperature meter and tried with different solders (60/40, eutectic, rose, lead free) melting point near by. Soldering Iron is superb, I fell in love with him. Good grip, lightweight, fast heating. Works well with surface and smd mount (I never tried before smd, but now I can). After 5 months of usage I would recommend this soldering station. P.S. Be careful, first time I did recalibrate station temperature on 100C degrees because not read instruction and wanted to try faster. First hit enter and then input temperature. Had to look tip thermometer.

> 3 dayWhy didnt I buy this years ago! Seriously! I have a fair collection of irons, single wattage, switch selectable, etc. all from big box or Radio Shack. Now, Ive been soldering since I was around 4-5 (dad worked in repairs) I can honestly say Ive never had it so good.

> 3 dayI was skeptical about this soldering station at first as it does look a bit like a toy to me instead of something more industrial/professional. I was also unfamiliar with the brand name until recently. I checked all the reviews I could find on it online and they all highly recommended it. It heats up very quickly and has enough heat capactity (65 watts) to easily solder 10 gauge wires to terminals. It would be very difficuly if not impossible to do with my old soldering station which only puts out 22 watts. The pen itself is comfortable and doesnt get hot even after the iron is left on for 30 minutes. The tips are fantastic and they have a variety of shapes and sizes available for most any job. I like the digital display that reads out the temperature and makes changing the settings easy. If you are thinking of a new soldering station and are a bit hesitant like I was, take the plunge and get this one. You wont regret it!

> 3 dayI originally bought this for soldering in some very small components, but I have found that it works equally well (with the right tip) for some pretty heavy duty work. I recently had to solder some leads onto some 1/2 x 1/16 copper strip and was pleasantly surprised that this iron, with a large tip, was up to the task, but also able to handle some tiny surface mount components when mated to an appropriate tip for that work. I also like the soldering iron stand, which holds the iron securely while isolating the tip. When I made the order, I assumed that the stand would be a lightweight affair, but it is hefty enough to stay in place.
