22-11-2024The board is excellent, but I really want to highlight the software. Multiple profiles/layers can be configured and then flashed to the onboard memory so you dont need to always have third party software running, which is the most frustrating thing about many modern peripherals (looking at you Razer). The onboard memory is great for use with multiple PCs or at work. You can also assign individual RGB settings which helps if you are remapping a layer for macros and want to color code them.

Greater than one weekPros: Stylish, feels like quality materials, cool RGB effects Cons: Freezes mid sentence, you have to cycle power to the keyboard to recover at which point you have to reprogram the RGB or select it from their horrible KB app. The app doesnt resize for resolution so in my case, my 1520x1440 display caused the screen to clip the upper and lower portions so I could not use the app without changing resolution first, then was required to use the task manager to kill the app. Its terribly annoying especially coupled with the constant resets. Without those two issues it would be rated much higher but the freezes and software are nonstarters. I have requested a refund/return and I bought the Red Dragon instead.

> 3 dayI own allot of keyboards from the Ducky Mecha, Drop Alt High Profile, Logitech G915 Lightspeed Wireless which is are all awesome keyboard. But I find the DROP ALT HIGH PROFILE to be a HUGE money pit and got rid of it and this keyboard replaced it. The problem with the Drop Alt was they basically lure in with a $200 price range but then increase it to $270 then you add up all of the KEYCAPS, and other upgrades I was over $400 into a starters kit. And the problem with the DUCKY MECHA is hard to find keycaps. I am using the G915 as my daily driver and it is flawless. But for my second setup I wanted a keyboard to have a nice outer solid feel, with great parts and no need to do modding to make it better. Well this is the KEYBOARD for you because I purchased the Cherry MX SILENT RED and I love them smooth as butter and super quiet. I do not feel any rattling keys like on the DROP ALT. This is a VERY WELL MADE keyboard. And you can find replaceable keycaps on this model as well with no problems and ordered a HyperX Double Shot PBT Keycaps should go nicely with my new PC build.

> 3 dayFirst, I love this Keyboard the build quality is amazing and I purchased with the MX Red Silent Switches or MX Red V2 interchangeable names from what I have read. The sound this keyboard gives off is amazing super quiet and just stealthy (switches will vary in sound but ALL will have reduced noise due to the dampening material under the PCB). The RGB is very bright, brighter than any Razer or Logitech that I have seen. I dont know much about how the keycaps feel as I replaced mine right away with Hyper X Pudding caps. The stabilizers are very nice and have almost no roughness to them due to being factory lubed. This software, though sorta difficult to find (Hera Keyboard Compiler) is a little weird to get used to but you can figure it out fairly quickly and does a nice job at being able to customize your keyboard layout quickly. The only issue Ive had is that my keyboard will disconnect randomly and then reconnect right away. About 90% of the time this happens so quick its non issue minus the sound windows gives for disconnecting and reconnecting a USB device. I have swapped out the original cable it came with and though that seemed to help a little bit it still does happen. Also the other 10% of the time the keyboard will lock up and I will have to remove the cable and reconnect it to get it to work again. Side note swapping the USB C cable with a new one turned out to be a real pain due to the recessed port. In the pictures it appears to be fairly large but in practice I had 1 cable that fit it. The others were to large to fit in the port. I have messaged the company regarding this and they have not gotten back to me. Due to the annoyance of this issue (actually it just happened while writing this review) I have decided to keep the board as a back up but have purchased a different board to replace this product. I really enjoy this board from sound to build quality but having a board that disconnects randomly is very annoying especially at this price point. I have heard that this is only an issue in humid climates but I live in the US and in WI and it is currently winter so Im not convinced that is the cause of this due to it being very dry out. In short if you dont mind dealing with this issue its a great board.

> 3 dayI had some concerns due to so many reviews that Ive seen regarding issues with freezing and all sorts of other problems. But so many of those things just went out the window as soon as I started using the keyboard and felt it in hand and typing. The quality is so much better than what I had expected. The build of the frame, the sound signature, the feel of the keycaps. All so much better than what I have experienced before. I have been long time user of other main stream brands like Razer and Corsair, and no knocks on those boards, they served me well but the experience with this has been a step above. One of the main standouts is the stabilizers. Man I was so used to rattling stabilizers that I thought it was normal. What a breath of fresh air man. My gaming experience is so much more improved since it takes up so much less space on my desk, so I can move my mouse around without hitting the keyboard every now and then as I used to. But of course this isnt ideal for my day to day use which is programming. I have actually made the effort to get used to using the board though just because of how nice it is. I do plan on purchasing a TKL from Durgod (the K320 Corona) based on my experience with the Venus, to use as my daily driver for work purposes and then use the Venus just for gaming. That does seem excessive when i think about it and almost a waste of the Venus but alas, some things are just easier with dedicated keys. I will HIGHLY recommend this little board and NO I havent experienced any of the freezing issues that other users have noted in their reviews and I hope I dont in the coming months ahead. Oh and the silent switches are awesome.

> 3 dayReally great keyboard except for the random disconnects which happens about once per day. I really like the build quality and how typing feels with the gateron reds. Unfortunately due to the keyboard requiring reconnecting it once per day I will be returning and going to grab a mecha mini.

> 3 dayThe Gateron silent brown version of the keyboard is probably the most quiet non custom keyboard you can buy on the market and imo having a quiet keyboard is super important. Most keyboard manufacturers seem to think that people invest in premium audio equipment and headphones so you can drown it all out in keyboard clicking. You can get even more quiet with zilents, lubing each switch instead of just the stabilizers, and making a ton of other mods but you would have to do that yourself and that would probably increase the price towards the $300 range so for slightly over $100 these are a steal. My only gripes with this keyboard is that the software isnt intuitive and you have to use a ton of modifiers to use some of the keys since its a 60% keyboard so keep track of how often you use the keys it doesnt have before you buy (unfortunately their other keyboards either dont have gateron silent browns or dont have double shot keycaps) but otherwise this is a great keyboard.
