Device was just installed when we had our power panel replaced and the indicator lights are both GREEN. So we dont know what we dont know but it would seem to be a very reasonable expense to protect all of your devices. Shop around as the pricing of this item is all over the map.

As mentioned before, leads are somewhat short for direct mounting on the panel. Hope to never test the surge protection, but I take comfort knowing it is there.

Easy install. Wont know if it work until the next surge

The price for this item was excellent compared to other retailers. Shipping was super fast. I had this item installed by a professional and now my whole house is protected from surges and electricity spikes. This is a type 2 surge protector which means it connects to my circuit breaker panel to prevent surges and spikes from reaching into my home. It is weatherproof so if your panel is outside, like mine, it can be mounted under the panel without fear of it getting wet. There are lights on the surge protector that tell you if it is working correctly or if it has become faulty and needs to be replaced due to a surge or spike. The most common type of surge protector is type 3 which one connects to a plug and then one connects that device to the electronics. What I really wanted was a type 1 surge protector and those go behind your meter, before your circuit breaker panel, but my local electricity provider does not allow that to be installed. If you are handy you could install this yourself, there are videos out on the web that show you how, but I was having some major work done around my house so I had the electrician install it while the other work was being done.

This surge protector is easy to install but you will need some electrical ability and knowledge. Does it work? I don’t know . I don’t know if any surges have occurred.
