> 3 dayThis model was recommended by an electrician. Saved quite a bit of money by purchasing it myself. However, this is not an install that a homeowner should do themselves. Best time to add it, is when you are doing other electrical work. Only takes a few minutes to add to a home and protect contents against surges.

> 3 dayEasy to install, but you will need a 50A breaker for the job.

Greater than one weekThis is one of those things where less is more. It does its job totally unnoticed. Since installation nothing has blown up, burned out, or disintegrated which is exactly what it is supposed to. Or not do.

20-11-2024This is SPD-2 type of protector (SPD - 1 is installed before main disconnect, SPD - 2 - after the main disconnect and SPD - 3 is at the point of use). I bought it from HomeDepot since it was cheaper there and no shipping charge. Installed myself in about 30 minutes - wiring was pretty easy. Install manual recommends twisting red and black wires together 1 twist per 1 to reduce impedance. It came with the wires already so all I needed to do is to install a new 50A double breaker, trim the wires so there is no much excess length (however allow some slack just in case you need to move it!) and connect everything. I have not had any lightning storms yet :) I use point of use SPD devices as well (either surge protected power strips or Leviton surge protected receptacles), but some electronics such as range, HVAC components, or electric dryer leaves no other option to protect them so this device is a good insurance.

> 3 dayI bought this product based on the reviews. I dont know whether it works until I experience a power surge.

Greater than one weekInstalled easily. Lights indicate it is working, though I suppose there is no way to know, until the protector fails.

> 3 dayElectrically the product is great, hard to find space for it in the load center, so I mounted outside on the side. If the LC is between studs like mine, it can be challenging to drill the stud, and you end up with a bigger hole in the wall than the escutcheon will cover, Note to the manufacturer of the escutcheon, an extra half inch all round would have been ideal ! However with fiddly drywall repairs it looks great.

> 3 dayI wont try to top the very good information already given in the preceeding reviews. Just installed one on the outside of my (outside) entry box, with a liberal gob of RTV silicone to seal it. The only issue on which Im not clear, is what the current draw is of this device? Its obviously a very negligible amount, and I have seen it listed somewhere. This device gets warm to the touch so it is consuming some electricity. Im obviously not concerned with this small loss, just curious as to how many milliamps is involved. ANYONE KNOW? . I made the installation in a thunderstorm, standing on wet ground, in the rain, on my OUTSIDE box. Piece O cake. God missed his chance to smoke this Atheist.
