FakeTV FTV-11 Extra Bright Burglar Deterrent Television Simulator

A total waste of money. It does not work as advertised, it doesnt put out enough light to even be seen outside.

I have an FTV 10 and FTV 11, the 11 is a brighter and shows some color. Both are good and do what is expected - I am happy with both and use them daily. the time has worked flawlessly.

Really bright for a small device. Doesnt look impressive out the box but does a great job emulating a real TV.

Very realistic, nice for extra security

Very bright, good random patterns and low wattage. Whats not to like? Choose always on or select 4 (or 7) hours auto turn off after it turns itself on to a dark enough room (dusk). To add randomness to the on/off times as well as activate it in early hours, I tried to use my X10 stuff but it didnt work with lamp modules or appliance modules. I suspect it doesnt show enough load for the X10 circuitry, but, no problemo: just use the always on setting with an old-fashioned timer capable of multiple on/off settings. Built-in variable on/off times would be good, but I would guess the price would go up dramatically. Burglars will, of course, smell a rat, but theyre not going to hang around long enough to detect patterns or guess if someone is really home - theyll know the occupant is heads up and may have other surprises for them - so, they merely move on to someone elses place...

So far so great - this is exactly what we needed, and is really bright. Looks like the TV is on.

wow what a awesome idea i travel often and i was always worried about just using timers for the lights, i came across fake tv i figure i give it a try the night before i left for vacation walk outside the house and it does resemble the tv, got a call from my neighbor asking why i didnt answer his call or the door he knew i was home watching tv. it work s great am getting another one for my bedroom, the i love you place to order one is thru amazon

I gotta say, this thing works. And is much brighter than I thought it would be. Its actually brighter than our 51 plasma. Subsequently, I didnt have to put it near a window. Just on a table below the TV in the middle of the room. Our bedroom is slightly larger than average and have 10 ceilings, but it did a good job illuminating the room and looking like an actual TV from the outside even with 2 blinds closed fully. Its fills a good gap in our home security arsenal. Well worth the peace of mind.
