> 3 dayThe brand doesnt matter. Neatsfoot Oil is a leather dressing which waterproofs and softens leather. Ive used it on work boots since the 1960s. One can/jug/whatever tends to last a long time. I dont care that it darkens the leather a bit. The benefits of how durable this type of treatment makes the leather is well worth the slight change in color to a darker shade

> 3 dayA must for leather care, conditioning, softening, breaking in, etc. This is good stuff. Be sure and buy pure. No petroleum distillates additives. Great for new holsters to soften and break in.

> 3 dayI used this to soften a home-tanned deer hide. It definitely has a funky smell that stuck with the hide for a good week or two, and had me concerned that the oil/hide was rancid. It wasnt a terrible odor, but it definitely smelled...off. The smell has since gone away mostly, and the oiled hide is a bit more pliable than my other non-oiled hide, so I guess it worked somewhat. Definitely no miracle oil though, and the smell still has me a bit iffy on the quality of this product.
