Used product on new leather rifle slings, made them supple and gave a nice brown color. 100% pure is important, because the non-pure oils can cause the stiching to rot or dissolve.

Neatsfoot Oil is the best natural leather treatment I have ever used but it can be difficult to find in stores. It is great for oiling baseball or softball gloves or any other new leather which needs help breaking-in. Like most everything else, the price has gone up and the container size has gotten a lot smaller, but the product is still great and works fine.

this oil is wonderful for slings, holsters, belts and other sport/game leather products. many required multiple coats but now have a completely different feel - supple and protected. i used a plastic base (to ensure that all oil dropped could make its way into the leather) and a 1/4 hobby brush to brush the oil on. after a couple coats (where youll see the oil disappear in front of you), i let the leather products sit over night. i then took a rag and wiped them down with very little residual oil coming off the items. after that, i let them sit for a couple days so there would be no oil to the touch. wonderful

This stuff is smelly but it works great to work-in stiff reproduction slings and holsters for firearms. I bought some repro mauser, Springfield, and Steyr M95 slings that were SUPER stiff and were way too obviously brand-new reproductions. I soak them in this stuff and work them in my hands and it softens them up and gives them a little bit more of a proper look for the rifles.

I love Fiebing’s Neatsfoot oil. This works really well in my Red Wing boots. Every few months I brush and wipe down my boots, pour a little bit in the bottom of a bowl, and rub it into the leather with my hands. After the oil dries your boots will be darker but will lighten up after a short time. This will do a good job of protecting the leather from water damage, while keeping it soft and comfortable.

If you dont already know this is the very best saddle and bridle oil. I have all leather furniture because of allergies and the dogs. I wash my furniture with Murphys oil soap then if I need to I oil it. There is one chair and ottoman near a fireplace that gets dry that one I have to oil. I would recommend this to all riders for their tack. Dont use too much on your reins too often or they will get too soft.
