Even though this is their moderarely priced model you can definitely tell this unit brings with it the Fluke quality. I had never really used a high end multimeter before but was easily able to figure out how to use this model without referencing the manual.

Feature packed for a value Fluke. There are cheaper options out there, but the quality of the Fluke is still high. I purchased to replace my 1990 Fluke 77. I gifted the 77 to someone that would use it since I no longer used it regular. The 117 has all features a home user needs. I have found it to be competent for everything I need.

Had trouble with ghost readings on electronics, the Fluke 117 took care of that. I wasted money buying lessor multimeters, and spent time puzzeling over dodgy readings trying to figure out circuit problems before finding out it was multimeter problems instead. Do it, you are worth good tools.

I saw many different multimeters for much cheaper, but you get what you pay for. I got an awesome multimeter that probably does way more than what I need, but at least I know it will last. The instructions are great. With so many options and not being an expert on electrical anything, it made it much easier to understand how to use the tool.
