this sand seemed awesome at first because my crabs would bury themselves but after about a week I started to notice the sand was getting in their shells and when i went to switch it out for something else I picked up our one who was always the most active and he was dead. We love all of our pets and do our best to take care of them and by this being falsely advertised we lost one of them. Im not one to usually write a review but I wanted to tell my story so maybe it could save someone elses pet.

This may be for some crabs but not for ours. After reading the reviews and product details about how beneficial it is for your crab I decided to purchase this for our little guy. Well he HATES it. Before we cleaned his bedding out he would burrow in the sand all the time and we had never seen him climb anything before. Now he wont touch this new bedding. He only hangs suspended from his palm trees or bridge. Super disappointed.

I rescued several hermies from a tourist beach shop, that were in horrible conditions. I took them home and set them up with this sand, after doing thorough research and reading hundreds of reviews. Naturally I wanted the best for my hermies. The second they touched this sand, they IMMEDIATELY started digging to molt. Ive had it sitting in my tank for about 2 months now and it hasnt clumped or caused any issues for me or the crabs! It doesnt get stuck in their shells like other substrate does and it mixes well with coconut substrate. Ill definitely be buying again!

Made a egg lay bin with the sand so my lizards could build a sand castle lol lol for two days

I dont know what is the difference is between the sand i ordered from amazon and the sand i bought at the pet store (even though they are the SAME BRAND) but my hermit crab avoided this sand until we removed it and replaced it with the sand we bought from the store. I do not recommend at all.
