Genie GLEDB2-R2 2 Pack Garage Door Opener LED LIGHT BULB, 4000K,White

Acquired these to replace current compact florescent lamps (CPL). Also wanted no issues with garage door opener vibration. Each time I open the garage door Im taken aback by the brightness of these bulbs. They light up the entire single car garage. There is no need to turn on the overhead light

If you have a newer model garage door opener then you need this product. Why? Because it used to work great back when you had your regular old incandescent light bulbs in the overhead fixture. Right? Then you changed that bulb to an LED… and suddenly your remote door opener is “finicky”. Because the LED is interfering with the signal from the overhead door opener to your remote door opener… Your opener now only works sometimes or with repeated presses or not at all. Same goes for the manual code opener on the outside of the garage. Often times you need to resort to using the stupid garage door phone ap just to get into your own garage/house. (Which is not convenient when you’re still trying to park the car and then wrangle kids, groceries, rain etc.) Solution #1) Put back in an Incandescent Bulb. Easy peasy, simple, cheap and done. Oooops! We threw all of those out didn’t we? Cuz they told us LED was much more efficient and lasted so much longer (yeah right! and oh by the way they forgot to mention how hazardous LEDs are to dispose of too). Solution #2) Obviously the only other choice is to buy these specialty bulbs that will not interfere with the garage door opener signal. I have no idea if this brand is better than the others. I based my purchase on my experience with the brand name. The difference in price was not enough for me to want to risk having to replace these again sooner rather than later. If/when I have more to add to this review as time goes by then I will add.

Garage

No problem with this. My old led bulb would sometimes stay on until I turned it off manually. This one shut off likes its supposed to after 30 seconds every time. Same light output. Good buy.

The LED bulbs are much brighter than the incandescent I had in there. And if all goes as expected should last a lot longer also.

Gets the job done

Intially I had a regular tungsten light bulb and I could open my garage from like 50 feet away. Because tungsten light bulbs are hot when turned on, it burned a hole on the plastic cover of my garage door opener. I switched to a regular LED bulb and I was no longer able to open my garage within 10 feet away. I decided to give this one a try. It works a lot better although I still cant open my garage 50 feet away. I would say it works fine but slight radio interference still exists.

Still some interference will door opener but not as bad as regular LED

We use this in our garage and on the garage door opener. It does not interfere with door’s functionality. Our previous light bulb prevented the garage door from opening (using the preset switch in the car) when the light was on. No more interference with this bulb and it’s brighter than I expected.

They did the job.
