Genie GLEDB2-R2 2 Pack Garage Door Opener LED LIGHT BULB, 4000K,White

After the installation of our new Genie garage door opener, we had installed a Smart LED lightbulb, interestingly it had some interference. Once we changed out the smart bulb with the Genie LED bulb for the garage opener, it opens beautifully with one touch of the remote.

I had a problem several months ago with my 2 garage door openers not working properly after replacing the standard garage door bulbs with LED energy efficient garage door bulbs of a different popular brand. Both openers would only work intermittently or not at all from any of the remotes at any distance. It took me awhile to figure out that the other brand LED bulbs were causing the issue. I thought I had other interference issues from say faulty florescent lights or something of that nature. Its always nice to buy 4 garage door bulbs that were priced at about $8.00+ and then find out they are causing some really wild issue with my openers. At this point I gave up and replaced the 4 bulbs with standard garage door bulbs and said the heck with it. My bulbs were just recently due to be replaced again due to burn out and during my search I saw these bulbs available claiming to solve the LED interference issue and I have to say they do work perfectly and I have no opening or closing issues. My both garage door units (not Genie units) are a 2008 year install so evidently due to design they will not work with standard garage door LED bulbs. If you research how LED bulbs work you will completely understand what problems they can cause with devices that are sensitive to interference. As far as longevity of bulb life that is yet to be seen. However, I am thinking they should have a long service life. We shall see as time passes what happens concerning longevity. Good job Genie solving this frustrating interference issue!

I was blowing out bulbs left and right. These work really well and have not blown out. Its decent light.

Genie GLEDB2-R2 light bulbs were a good addition to my genie garage door opener. They are bright and hopefully long lasting.

These are great and so bright in the garage door opener.

These are nice and bright in my garage door opener. I got these to reduce the interference that general purpose LED bulbs produce.

No problem with this. My old led bulb would sometimes stay on until I turned it off manually. This one shut off likes its supposed to after 30 seconds every time. Same light output. Good buy.

Seem to be hanging in there, no issues

For months, our garage door was acting like a stubborn jerk. Sometimes it opened, sometimes not. We could use the keypad to open it, then five minutes later, could not. Sometimes the car controllers worked, sometimes not. We did hard re-sets and other common fixes for problems with controls on other appliances. Then, I just happened to see a snippet on the web somewhere that some LED bulbs can interfere with the operation of garage door openers. (My son, an electrical engineer, says that LED bulbs require direct current, so each bulb has a transformer to change the house alternating current to direct current. He guesses that the problem lies there.) I put an incandescent bulb in to replace the LED and the door worked perfectly! First, I went to a local hardware store and bought a bulb that stated it was for garage doors. But, no luck, it didnt work. To be fair, the box on the bulb only said that it could take the rough duty demanded by a garage door opener. Then, I turned to good old Amazon.com and found these bulbs actually branded by Genie, who makes garage door openers. These new bulbs work perfectly. Problem solved, and I didnt have to call the garage door company.

Not sure what to expect, but they lit up when I screwed them in to the door opener and opened the door. Happy!
