> 3 dayInstallation sucked. Sorry, thats my opinion. I installed this on a square-tube trailer, NOT the flat, angle-iron trailers it was designed for...but never was mentioned in the product description. It was no fun installing it on a square-tube trailer, and I had to purchase longer bolts in order to make it work. I will say that it works, I only needed one side for my small 6X8 trailer, so I have a spare or might sell to someone else with a small trailer. Take note though, you will need a 3/4 drill bit, and even if you buy (or have) a high-quality bit made for steel, you will toast it. Overall this is a great product, I just take issue with the installation on my type of trailer, but once installed, it works as advertised and is a godsend! My gate was so heavy and now I can lift it with one hand. I COULD have used the other side for EFFORTLESS operation, but it was bad enough installing the one side and since it worked well enough, I just went with it. So, three stars for installation, but definitely five stars for actual product quality and functionality.

> 3 dayI like how it works, but it could use a few changes. Every trailer has supports in different spots, but the holes in the lift assist are always in the same spots. My last carriage bolt landed inside a V, L-angle upright under the railing. It was near impossible to get the bolt in the V and get the washer and nut on. I almost drilled another hole 3 inches forward, then cutting the bolt to fit inside square tube and use a magnet or stiff wire to set the bolt into the new hole. Luckily I didnt need to do that. My other alternative was to drill a hole through the top and install the bolt that way, and cover the hole with a rubber plug. I didnt want to weld it in case it didnt work. Looking at the photo I have 5.5 inches from the rail to the ramp and I wasnt sure it would work, I worried about the spring hitting the rollers, since it had to pull out 5.5 inches. It works great. When I clipped the hooks on the ramp it worked perfect. It stayed straight out just like the directions said. I used a 3/16 cobalt drill bit and a cheap 1/2 step drill from Harbor Freight and it went through the metal like butter. Im going to weld two handles on the ramp so I can use my toe to lift the ramp so I wont need to bend over. I would definitely by again.

> 3 dayIt is very sturdy and all parts were included. The instructions should include diagrams. We had to watch a video online, which made it easier. You need a high quality drill and bit. This makes a tremendous difference when opening and closing our heavy gate.

> 3 dayAs a woman using a trailer to haul a lawn mower around, I was struggling to lift the heavy endgate. My husband found these online and ordered them and I am absolutely loving them. They take all the work out of raising and lowering the endgate on the trailer I use. I am very happy with this product.

> 3 dayThis is one of the best investments for work which Ive ever made. I deliver goods in my own trailer, and the tailgate needs to accommodate weighty stuff, so the gate is heavy gauge metal. Lifting it up and down all the time was doable, but who needs the extra work when you lift a lot already? It goes up and down with nearly zero effort now, and the gate lifting hardware was easy to install.

> 3 dayit went well, I cost me some time by not looking at things carefully before starting. I did have to add another hole in their product as my trailer had a section of box tubing running vertically at the end (where they had a bolt going)

> 3 dayI recently purchased the ez gate trailer gate lift to help lift my open trailers heavy gate. The gate is removable (not pinned). Since the ez gate lift is only on one side,While lifting it would lift the gate so unevenly that it would pull the gate out of position making a huge frustrating mess. In the down position it would pull one corner of the gate off the ground about 5 inches while the other side was touching the ground. I found the gorilla lift after I had enough of those shenanigans and it lifts the gate flawlessly and evenly. It was even $10 cheaper for the gorilla. If you have a removable gate I would highly advise buying this product over a gate assist with only one side spring assist.

> 3 dayAs my back reminds me of my age (74) I am completely satisfied with the assisted lift for my tailgate on my trailer. As many other customers say I should have had these years ago --- I was wondering a little about the fit on my trailer as I have a by-fold end gate but that was no problem. The only thing I had to modify was the mounting of the tubes as my trailer latch system was in the way and I didnt want to modify that so I simply put a 2 square tubing 10 long on each end and in the middle where the assist comes together and that raised the cable up enough so it clears my latch on the end gate. I mounted it on my ATV trailer and have used it a number of times already hauling my ATV for ice fishing trips and it works great -- very satisficed with the product.
