> 3 dayIve used many different tastes of GU Original Energy Gels. My favorites are salted caramel and espersso love. They give me the energy I need and my digestive system tolerates them well. The only reason for the missing star is the sweetness, but I think there is no energy gel that is not too sweet for me.

> 3 dayI have Type 1 Diabetes and Gu is my go-to for treating low blood sugars. Dissolves quickly like juice, but not heavy to carry. My two favorite flavors are Espresso & Vanilla.

Greater than one weekEnergy gels are a fact of life once words like marathon and all of its variants start to enter your vocabulary. To perform your best, you need energy, and one of the best ways of getting energy quickly is consuming energy gels. GU gels are an essential item in my distance running arsenal, and you should seriously consider getting some, too. Unlike SOME energy gels Ive tried, the taste (vanilla bean) actually isnt bad. Do yourself a favor, however, and wash the gel down with plenty of water to avoid that yummy gel aftertaste. The gel sits lightly in your stomach and is quickly absorbed by your body, delivering energy just when you begin to flag. I use these religiously when training for my longer-distance races and when on extended bicycle rides. They fit easily into my running belt, under-saddle bag, and the pocket in the back of my running shirt. Buy them by the case for maximum value! GU wont let you down!

Greater than one weekI use GU for my long runs (anything over 5 miles) and it works wonders. I love how convenient it is to use during a run. I keep it in the pocket of my handheld water bottle and can consume this easily, without stopping or slowing my pace. I didnt use to like GU, until I tried the SALTED CARAMEL flavor. It is so good I actually look forward to taking it :) It does make your mouth feel dry though, so make sure you have some water on hand after taking

Greater than one weekAs a triathlete maintaining nutrition during an Ironman event is critical. Using these products ensures that I am keeping up with what is needed to keep my calories and nutrition equalized during this type of endurance race.

> 3 dayThis flavor of GU is the only flavor I like. I do like the vanilla Cliff band as well. It can be difficult finding a gel to like as it is messy, sticky, and a bit thick to swallow. However, I find that this one is not overly sweet and has a pleasant enough flavor that I can swallow it during a race rather quickly. It does help me with not feeling light headed and gives me continue energy. Of course you do need to eat multiple ones during long races/training times.

> 3 dayI like both the taste and the consistency. It’s vanilla, but not overwhelming and it doesn’t repeat on me like some products do. The packaging is small with no sharp edges. Price is good when compared to similar products. The consistency is closer to pudding than runny liquid so I can eat it in two or three ‘slurps’ without it spilling over my fingers or worse still over the shifters on my bike over 30 seconds or so. I can’t speak to the amount of sodium, caffeine or amino acids but if I’m dragging this always peps me up.

Greater than one weekThis is the best flavor of GU, and has caffeine! If I am going to be out for a long day climbing a big objective, I will bring 3-4 of these along with several CLIF Shot Bloks and a protein bar for variety. Other flavors of GU make me gag, but the salted caramel actually tastes like something you would put on ice cream... so good!

Greater than one weekAbsolutely love the taste of these. Have been through two boxes of these already this summer and need another box. I think I will go and order them right now! They are essential for hot summer rides, easy to eat and digest and the salt is necessary (for me, anyway). Sometimes when youre riding a long time/distance and youre hot, the thought of eating anything, never mind a Gu which can be disgusting, is not worth thinking about. But these taste so good I have never felt like that ... definitely recommend if you like the taste of salted caramel anything.

Greater than one weekThis has helped my endurance on longer runs and bike rides. Because of the cost, I use it only for competition runs, or when Im cycling with people who I have trouble keeping up with. I figure that 100 calories every 45 minutes, when Im burning 400+ calories, is a good tradeoff. And the slightly better pace offsets some of those calories. The cost is too high, even at Amazons discount pricing, for me to use it for regular running and cycling.
