> 3 dayEnergy gels are a fact of life once words like marathon and all of its variants start to enter your vocabulary. To perform your best, you need energy, and one of the best ways of getting energy quickly is consuming energy gels. GU gels are an essential item in my distance running arsenal, and you should seriously consider getting some, too. Unlike SOME energy gels Ive tried, the taste (vanilla bean) actually isnt bad. Do yourself a favor, however, and wash the gel down with plenty of water to avoid that yummy gel aftertaste. The gel sits lightly in your stomach and is quickly absorbed by your body, delivering energy just when you begin to flag. I use these religiously when training for my longer-distance races and when on extended bicycle rides. They fit easily into my running belt, under-saddle bag, and the pocket in the back of my running shirt. Buy them by the case for maximum value! GU wont let you down!

Greater than one weekI am an endurance cyclist, and one of the challenges Ive had over the years is finding on-the-bike snacks that both supply carbs/electrolytes/caffeine AND taste good. Usually taste is the big issue for me, with things either being too sweet (which seems to lead to stomach upset for me) or tasting too much like chemicals. I tried one of these packets that a friend had while out on a bike ride in December, and it was so good that I promptly pulled out my phone, opened the Amazon app, and ordered a box. The salt component of this flavor keeps it from being too sweet, it has all of the rest of the balanced ingredients you need to maintain good performance on the bike, and I had no issues digesting it. I hope they make this a regular flavor, as it is one of my new favorites!

> 3 dayIve been using these since the 1990s, and theyre still just as good as they were back then. I frequently do rides of 50 miles (or further), and taking one of these once an hour really helps to keep my energy levels up. Plus they taste absolutely great. 10-15 minutes after taking one I seem to get some extra kick in my legs. I also use the Gu Chews (in watermelon flavor) that may taste even better. Ill chew 2 of those maybe every 15-30 minutes in between the gels. Great products from Gu.
