Hakko FX888D,T18-B,BL,I,D24,D32,C05,S7,599-029 Soldering Station with T18-B/BL/I/D24/D32/C05/S7/599-029

Was ok until I ran into a ground-plane. This thing is just anemic (or defective). It reflowed the solder on all of the .025 pins in a 4-layer circuit board. One of the pins is connected to a ground plane. This soldering iron will not melt this tiny pool of solder for that one pin. Very disappointed. Good for tiny soldering jobs. Useless for anything that requires any wattage. UPDATE: Have not heard from Hakko support. Too bad. UPDATE 3-4-2020: Still have not heard from Hakko support. I wish I could return this thing. Complete waste of money. My $20 Weller stick solderer is much better than this. UPDATE 2-26-2021: Still nothing from Hakko support. Useless device. HELLO!?

Great product from an industry leader of soldering equipment. I would recommend this station for beginners up to experts, as it is hard to beat the functions and tips this unit offers. Small footprint but a large amount of versatility and power. This is a great soldering station overall, and the presets make it even easier to switch between lead and lead free solder applications.

This soldering iron heats up quickly and stays hot! It comes with soo many tips, and is really easy to use!

Wow! This is the first soldering iron I’ve ever purchased, and I’m beyond pleased with it!! I make custom neon LED signs, & this was a great investment. I’ve only ever used it for the purpose of making neon LED signs (which involves tinning & soldering electrical wires to soldering pads on cut LED segments), but in terms of value, precision, and efficiency it gets an A+ from me! Hakko pretty much sets the standard in soldering equipment. I have owned this for over a year and it works very well. The soldering iron heats quickly and appears to stay on temperature. The iron fits securely into the holder. Tips last a long time and are easy to change. Fit and finish are excellent. I have no negative comments with respect to this unit. I wish everything worked this well.

Awesome! These things solder so good, they will make you feel like a pro. I have had several irons over the years, and none compared to this.

I was a bit upset at first as I ordered the solder station with additional tips. An opened/unsecured box arrived (not taped closed) and no additional tips. Contacted Amazon, and 2 days later I received a replacement that was complete. Great customer service. The temperature control and easy to change tips make this an easy purchase decision.

Unit worked fine for two years of minimal use, maybe 40 hours total, then it stopped working.

I really like the setup of the whole kit! it helped me with what was needed to get down. :)

Awesome iron for the price.
