> 3 dayAnd it’s still weak. Not first time I’ve soldered- electronics hobby goes back to around 1968, I’ve worked as a tech in a music store, repaired all manner of home Audio equipment and more. This ONLY worked after calibration and the instructions are woefully inadequate to describe it - typical “geek think”. Details lacking. I even used a laser thermometer and the temps still come back 200 degrees below indicated. Using chip-quik solder, paste, when it gets frustrating I get a cup of coffee or walk the dog and come back for another round. It’s very unpleasant to use. Works better, not great, after “calibration”- own a double handful of tips, have tried most all of them. not interested in buying a truly professional $600 work station but in hindsight… the old standby 25 watt Radio Shack “wood burner” just wouldn’t work on later generations of double layer blue boards and it worked fine on 50 year old phenolic boards in Revox gear. I wouldn’t buy this again, but there’s not many others near this price point that have as favorable ratings as this. I still wonder if others are reviewing the same soldering iron as I am.

The digital read out is easy to set and very easy to see. I would recommend this product. The product shipped very quickly by the United States post office and delivered right to my door. What a great system.

Greater than one weekHakko pretty much sets the standard in soldering equipment. I have owned this for over a year and it works very well. The soldering iron heats quickly and appears to stay on temperature. The iron fits securely into the holder. Tips last a long time and are easy to change. Fit and finish are excellent. I have no negative comments with respect to this unit. I wish everything worked this well.

> 3 dayThe system has been good for 4 uses over 6 months and then the power switch stuck in the on position. It was not abused in any fashion as I am a technical representative for a very prestigious aviation company using the equipment for basic wire/ terminal soldering. I cannot find contact links/ numbers to reach out for repair assistance.
