> 3 dayIm an electronics technician by trade and love this soldering iron. I purchased this for my home lab. I decided on this iron because of other reviews and the price was within my budget. After many hours of use I am more than satisfied. It comes up to temp quickly, and maintains temp well when soldering non isolated ground plane pads. The tip selection is excellent for a kit. My only complaint would be that the tips take a little bit more time to swap out than Id like and would be a concern if used in a production setting. But for hobby use, it doesnt warrant knocking off a star. Overall, I couldnt be happier with this iron.

07-06-2025GREAT soldering iron. Heats up very quickly and comes with a good assortment of tips. Its definitely worth spending a few extra dollars to purchase a quality unit like this Hakko FX888D. AWESOME PRODUCT.

Greater than one weekVery nice soldering iron. Nice price, considering the extras. Much better than the Stahl SSVT it replaced. Better then the Weller WES51 and Metcal SP200 I have used at work.

07-06-2025I have only ever used cheapo $10-$30 soldering irons before. This station is in another league. Heats up fast. Temp stays consistent. Suitable for small to medium-large soldering jobs. Dont use the sponge. It can deteriorate your iron over time. Stick with the brass to clean your tips and wet your tips before storage.

> 3 dayThis is hands down the very best Soldering Iron set up I have ever owned and I have owned quite a few. I highly recommend it. It comes with a number of extra iron tips all the way from tiny to very large. They send duplicate replacement tips in the box when they ship it. It gets hot immediately , it cools to another temperature quickly. It heats up when you turn it on right away, there is nearly no wait time. The temp control works great. It is super easy to use, super easy to change temps. It fits nicely in the hand. It is made of very sturdy materials. Changing tips is super easy and simple. Let me say this, sometimes I need an Iron to get really really hot (working on tube equipment) then I need it cool and even temperature..It does this without any problem whatsoever. Take it from me spend the extra few $ and win with this station. Yes, I own it. No I am not affiliated in any way.
