Greater than one weekI’ve really never thought much about fans. They work or they don’t. I bought this one for working out in the basement as the air can be a little stagnant down there. Well, now I won’t work out without this thing. I keep it about 8 feet from where I work out, and on the mid setting it provides just the perfect flow of air that keeps me cool and helps me breathe. And it’s not just a constant flow of air — it’s more like a buffering breeze that is much more pleasant and feels more natural. Not sure if it’s the dual blades or what, but it’s the best fan I’ve ever had. And the “wind zone” is pretty wide so even when I’m standing it covers my whole body. The fan itself is whisper quiet, and although I didn’t think I’d use it, the remote is pretty handy and works great. When I’m not working out I leave it on low oscillation to keep some circulation down there, and there’s less of a stagnant, musty basement smell now. The only non-positive thing I can think of is that it’s not the prettiest thing in the world, but it’s not ugly either. It’s fine. It’s a fan. Anyway, never thought I’d love a fan, but I love this thing. Highly recommended.

> 3 dayThis Honeywell fan is well worth the price. The base is a heavy metal plate - it has a slight lean, but nothing like any of the other fans Ive owned where they look like theyre going to topple over. The motor housing unit is pretty heavy for a fan. When I turn it off after having it on for 8-12 plus hours, its cool to the touch. It has the 2 blade technology that allows more air to flow towards you. I love that feature! Its fairly quiet. The fan to the left sitting on the floor is a powerhouse commercial-like fan youd find in a warehouse, it blows a TREMENDOUS amount of air. But its also incredibly NOISY. I use that one to help keep me asleep (have sleep issues? go buy one from Walmart). I read a couple reviews where people said that cages that cover the blades is a little tricky. The little metal pieces that should slide down easily to hold the 2 cage pieces together - it is a bear to get them to close. I only had problems with 2 of them. But they arent really that big of a deal, mine dont hang open. Havent gotten batteries for the remote so cant give that a rating.

Greater than one weekIve owned a Lasko 16 oscillating pedestal fan for several years and it has been serviceable but kind of loud without that much wind velocity - almost have to sit next to it to feel much benefit. The Honeywell is huge upgrade with the medium speed blowing more and faster air than the high speed on the Lasko with noticeable less noise. At only about $50 for the Honeywell, I would not go with a cheaper one unless you are on a really tight budget. Better cooling and quieter is clearly the superior combination.

> 3 dayWe needed an additional fan stat in this heatwave. Last month we bought a Lasko fan and wanted to try a different brand to compare. Below are observations between this Honeywell and Lasko 18 pedestal fan: Speed/Power: Lasko has 5-blades, 4-speeds. Speed 1-2 are similar and bumps up at 3 but speed 4 is pretty similar to speed 3. Honeywell has 3 speeds and theres enough of a notable difference between 1 and 3. Honestly, you really only need 3 speeds. Both brands oscillate just fine. Given the larger diameter and 5-blades, Lasko fan provides what feels like stronger air flow. Noise: Perhaps due to the larger diameter of the Lasko blades, the Lasko fan is really loud. We have it set up in the bedroom as a surrogate white noise machine. It drowns out the outside noise when we have the window open. Not sure if its the LA paper walls, but the vibrations of the fan can be heard in the next room. In comparison, Honeywell is significantly quieter than the Lasko fan. Its not silent but I can have the Honeywell fan on, watch tv or have a Zoom call without interference. Well see after some use if the noise level changes. Assembly: Lasko fan is all plastic except for the pole and motor. Honeywell has a metal grill, cement base, and metal motor rod. Both fans have plastic blades. The metal cage on the Honeywell attached more securely than the Lasko plastic grill which snaps. I am still concerned the Lasko grill will pop off one day and were found decapitated in our sleep. Instructions for the Honeywell are not as clear as the Lasko fan manual. Both are simple enough to put together but a few steps in Honeywell instructions were not clearly described and we had to assemble based on logic. I hope the piece that didnt fit to anything was not essential... Lastly, the base footprint of the Honeywell is much smaller and sturdier. Extra features: I like the idea of the different air flow options on the Honeywell but we havent really used the other options except for constant flow. Honeywell also has up to an 8-hour timer. Lasko only offers a 1-2 hour timer which is probably just good for naps? Stay cool everyone!

22-11-2024I was, looking for a pedestal fan to replace my DuraCraft fan that I had for about 15 years. Honeywell bought out DuraCraft. I bought this Honeywell fan based on the recommendations I read on Amazon. I have not been disappointed with this fan. This fan puts out a lot of air even at the slowest speed. Putting the fan together was very easy. Although some folks have noted problems with the remote, so far mine has worked with no problems. My only wish is that this fan was about 1 foot taller. I was surprised at how sturdy the base was. The blue LED lights are quite bright in a dark bedroom at night, but I will probably get used to that. The fan is very quiet on low speed. So far, I am very pleased with this fan and hope to get many years out of it. I attached a picture as this is how my box looked when it was delivered. I was afraid that some component of the fan had been damaged, but everything was ok. +

> 3 dayA very sturdy fan with heavy circular base compared to a previous flimsy fan we owned. Fairly easy to assemble but the adjustable stand was difficult to extend at first but eventually worked. The remote works perfectly. Its quiet even with the double blades. No complaints so far and highly recommend.

> 3 dayWe got this fan as a replacement and while its good in its own right (so far), it didnt work for our immediate need. We have two of our pedestal fans connected to smartplugs for voice/routine control and that works great when the fans can remember their settings during power-off/power-on, but this one does not. Every time we want this fan on we need to manually turn it on and move the speed up to Hi. Fortunately we use three pedestal fans in total so we mitigated the problem by moving fans around so our two mechanical-control fans are on the smartplugs. That aside, this fans seems to be of good quality for our simple needs. Theres good difference between the speeds, sound is where we like it (for some nighttime white noise), and its of solid construction. I cant comment on the remote control since I havent even put batteries in it. No interest there as wed end up losing the remote anyway. I wouldnt have even gotten a remote controlled fan except it was the correct price point with good ratings.

> 3 dayI was hoping to get a new, more quiet, standing fan but I wanted a remote too as many now have them. I bought one of these fans. I like the black color over the also available white. It was very easy to assemble and had good picture directions. It is a dual blade fan set up with the large main fan, and a smaller secondary fan to help push air on the lower settings. The fan blades are all plastic. Although advertised as a more quiet option, it was in fact louder than the fan it was to replace. The remote works great and you can control all the important functions with it, oscillate, speed, timer and from across the room convenience. There are also on the unit control buttons too. Overall it works as it should and it does provide a good volume of wind. I only gave it 4-stars due to the sound level. It works great and if you arent as concerned about noise it is a good purchase.

> 3 dayI was a bit intimidated by putting it together but the directions are clear. The materials are sturdy and strong. The fan is very large, bigger than my old one. I like the black and black finish. The remote is a bonus, batteries 2 AAA arent included. The fan also has a double 2-blade system. Ive never seen this before. When putting it together, there is a 2nd much smaller blade to attach in front of the much larger blade. It took me time to figure out what the purpose of it was. If you place your hand in front of the front you feel air flow coming forward. If you place you hand in the rear of the fan you will also feel a forward air flow. In other words, air flows from both ends. The fan is quiet, love the oscillation setting, its big, its strong, its sturdy, has a nice remote, its black, it has a nighttime setting or basically a timer setting, it has strong airflow. Great purchase, satisfied with this, worth the extra money for me than a cheap standard piece of junk. Thats not what your buying here. Hope it helps.

> 3 dayI’ve liked this fan since we got it back in 9/2019. The speeds are great and, up until recently, it was pretty darned quiet on low, which is the speed it’s on most of the time. It’s now got a very noticeable and distracting hum. The blade noise drowns it own on high speed. I only use this fan during the summer, but it got more use this past summer than all of its use before combined. It’s still quite good and I won’t even consider replacing it yet, but if you’re looking for something silent on low, this ain’t it. Also, FWIW, I can only really sleep with fan/filter/AC fan noise. On low, this hum isn’t what I would consider pleasing enough to use it for sleeping purposes.
