Honeywell Double Blade 16 Pedestal Fan Black With Remote Control, Oscillation, Auto-Off & 3 Power Settings

> 3 dayI have bought this particular model fan at least 4 times previously. This purchase was made as a standby as my current fan may be on its last legs after about 3 years of daily use. The fan operates quietly largely because the fan speeds are lower than most fans but for me quiet operation is most important which is why I like it. The remote is also simple to use and assembly is easy as well. The only caution with this fan is that as it ages the blades may not spin unless you first hand spin the fan a little, much like how those old biplanes of old were started by hand spinning the props. Once this begins to happen, you know that its days are numbered.

Greater than one weekI was replacing a cheaper fan that died. Since I have been using several Honeywell Space Heaters for several winters & they always served me well, I decided to stay with the brand. This fan has a couple of interesting features. I have never seen a fan with a smaller blade in front of the large blade. I imagine it is designed for more-even air distribution. The other interesting feature is the variable-speed setting - to simulate breezes, I guess. One great design feature of this fan is the heavy base. My other pedestal fans wobble during oscillation. Not this one. The base is rock solid. The noise level is acceptable on low & medium, but rather loud on High. I use this fan in a large living room, away from where I will be, so I cant hear it at all. If I intended to use this fan in a bedroom, Id only consider using the Low speed. It moves air well, so a higher speed isnt needed.

> 3 dayThis Honeywell fan is well worth the price. The base is a heavy metal plate - it has a slight lean, but nothing like any of the other fans Ive owned where they look like theyre going to topple over. The motor housing unit is pretty heavy for a fan. When I turn it off after having it on for 8-12 plus hours, its cool to the touch. It has the 2 blade technology that allows more air to flow towards you. I love that feature! Its fairly quiet. The fan to the left sitting on the floor is a powerhouse commercial-like fan youd find in a warehouse, it blows a TREMENDOUS amount of air. But its also incredibly NOISY. I use that one to help keep me asleep (have sleep issues? go buy one from Walmart). I read a couple reviews where people said that cages that cover the blades is a little tricky. The little metal pieces that should slide down easily to hold the 2 cage pieces together - it is a bear to get them to close. I only had problems with 2 of them. But they arent really that big of a deal, mine dont hang open. Havent gotten batteries for the remote so cant give that a rating.

> 3 dayCant speak to endurance yet as Ive only had it a month, but otherwise like it. My most important qualification for fans is the ability to wash it, and this one just has clips to take off the grill so that will be easy. Assembly was pretty easy too. Its not super quiet but it doesnt bother me (low speed is quiet though). And I thought it would just be a useless feature, but I actually like the variable speed / breeze thing its got going. Sometimes a steady speed just isnt right and this adds options. I may buy another one!

> 3 dayOn the whole I am very pleased with this fan. There is another product, the Amazon Basics fan, which is quite similar and it is slightly cheaper. However, this fan is noticeably more powerful. At high speed, the fan has strong airflow. It is quiet at low speed. The remote is sensible, the variance of speeds is broad, and the oscillation covers a wide angle. The intermittent speed function is of no interest to me, but it is a unique feature that may be appreciated by some consumers. The fan is stable at high speed, because the base has a nice weight to it. It also has an extra propeller that attaches to the main blade. Perhaps this adds to its effectiveness. And finally, the fan has a metal grille, which I would think would hold up better than plastic, if the fan were to be knocked over. Now for the criticisms: The fan is not tall enough for me. I originally hoped to use it while on my treadmill, but even with the fan tilted, the air stream is not quite high enough. Also, when I pick up and move the fan, it tends to swivel on its axis, so that the motor and pedestal no longer line up. I have line it up again in order to use the tilt feature. It makes the unit feel a bit flimsy. Assembly is a bit tricky. The metal clips that hold the grille in place required pressure from a pliers in order to fully attach. No biggie. [Now a note about the Amazon Basics fan: it is remarkably similar to this model. The features are largely identical but the power is somewhat less (Id say 15%). The intermittent feature was lacking, and the base is lighter than that of the Honeywell. Also, the grille is plastic, not metal. However, the Amazon fan is taller than the Honeywell. I own both, and I have reviewed the Amazon Basics pedestal fan as well.]

> 3 dayI wanted to replace the floor fan we have that is just too loud even on a low setting. We have a Rowenta Turbo Silence in our bedroom but their floor fans are over $150. This Honeywell is only $50 and claimed to be quiet. And has a remote... Sounded like a deal. If it were not for the cheap price, it would be a 3 star product. PROS: 1. Cost. 2. Easy installation. It appears easy to take apart as well for periodic dust removal. CONS: 1. The base is very cheap. It started to crumble in my hand as I grabbed it to start the installation. See the pic. Its got two chunks missing and it want even set up. 2. It is NOT all that quiet. Compared to my old stand fan, its a bit better. (So I am keeping it). But its quiet mode should be described as annoying... High/Low or On/Off... It would not be appropriate for sleeping. The description is misleading. If you think youre getting a low-noise fan, keep looking.

28-11-2024Have been using this for months now, outside on the deck. I like the remote feature. Holds up well even through snowy winter season on a covered deck and also through the summer heat. Couldnt ask for a better floor fan

> 3 dayUnfortunately, I go through a lot of fans. I bought this one for upstairs [although its currently downstairs]. Like many homes, the second floor is hotter due to the sun coming through the window and the AC isnt enough to keep it cool. There are several different air speeds, which can be controlled manually or via remote. The biggest features include its well made material [which is well made and not too heavy when moving around the house], several different air flow options, easy to clean (especially important when you have doggies in the house), and its ability to cover a large space. Unlike other fans, I never get cold. The remote is sleek, lightweight and easy to use. The negatives: a) its kinda quiet [which depends on the person] which I dont mind upstairs but when sleeping prefer it to be a little louder, b) the remote doesnt light up at night. Therefore, if you wake up in the middle of the night and need to adjust will need to pull out your cell phone to see the display and c) the red light display at night. Its almost like a light on a cable box, but if youre a light sleeper--sometimes it makes it harder to sleep. Overall though, highly satisfied great fan!!!!

> 3 dayHard to set up. Unnecessary pieces to it that threw me off like I was trying to figure out where it went but it ended up being unnecessary I guess there just to hold stuff together than when assembling your product you take the piece off than throw it away. It was only for transport of the item. Im more of a visual person so I followed the photo more. Other than that great fan. Has a timer and a wind speed itll speed up than slow down setting choice. Highly recommend this fan. Only down side is the blue light does not go off at night. It is very bright and hard to sleep with the bright light shining up part of your room. The only thing I suggest is tie a shirt around it or sumthin. If you know you dont need to change any setting on it with the remote. What I do is actually move the neck of the fan and just have the fan blowing towards me while the neck with panel is away from me to block the light as much as I can, if that makes sense.
