Greater than one weekI was given this fan as a birthday gift, and that one appeared broken. The head of the fan was tilted and couldnt be straightened. Also, the extension pole was missing. Rather than contacting my sister in law who bought it and go through the hassle of returning it, I decided to just buy one myself. Well, this one has the exact same problems. I specifically wanted this fan, among other reasons, BECAUSE it could be raised to just the right height to blow on me when Im in bed. Thats impossible though without the extension pole. This fan may work if it has all the parts, but I dont know. They quality control of the company obviously leaves a lot to be desired. This has been a big disappointment along with a waste of money. Edit: Apparently, the extension pole is INSIDE the other pole. Nowhere in the directions does it tell you this. I loosened the screw at the bottom of the fan head and was able to tilt it. I now have the fan working and it seems to work well. However, the directions for the fan leave MUCH to be desired. Although this fan is actually easy to put together, once you figure it out, the directions are not very clear. Also, it should tell you how to find the extension pole. I have a feeling that is the same problem everyone else who said theres had no extension pole had. They probably have one, but dont know to look in the other pole. Once you get this put together, it seems to be a good fan. But good luck figuring out how to put it together.

> 3 dayThe fan was very easy to put together and is easy to use. Make sure to line up the alignment pins on the blades when assembling it. It has good air flow. The noise level is a little high, but not too bad even at max speed. Its a fan... what do you expect? It has a nice weighted base that keeps the fan stable. The height isnt as adjustable as I expected (theres a difference of only about 8-10 from top to bottom heights), but that isnt a problem for me. The post screws down onto the base so that you dont have to worry about the base coming off when moving it and theres a screw on the top part that holds it in place to the post. However, that screw on the top part isnt great and probably wont last being tightened many times. But once set up, you should never need to tighten it or loosen it, so that shouldnt be a problem. The fan screen is metal and the clips holding the front to the back are metal, but seem to be flimsy, so be careful using them. If they end up breaking off at some point, zip ties work wonders for fan screens... just cut off the excess lengths after tying them on. I havent used the remote as I dont have the batteries to fit it and I dont have any real use for a remote anyhow. I either have the fan on or off and that can easily be changed by pressing the button on the fan without having to track down a remote. I wanted to clear up a few things I saw in other reviews prior to buying this. Hopefully this will help anyone who had those issues. * If you are missing the small fan blade and remote, check ALL the cardboard as they are both in the same small piece of cardboard that can easily be missed. * The nut that holds the blades on does not unscrew counter-clockwise like youd expect. Turn it to the right (clockwise) as the directions indicate and it will unscrew easily. This opposite threading prevents it from coming unscrewed as the blade spins. * If your fan is speeding up and slowing down, this is one of the settings. You can disable that easily. If you press the ... button, you cycle between three fan settings. One will stay on at full speed, one will cycle fast and slow. I havent tested the third, but its probably something between those two options. This setting changes the lighted up icons on the right side. For constant full speed, you should have it set to the bottom icon on the right side. * If you arent getting a lot of air flow, change the fan speed by pressing the power button. This changes the lighted up icons on the left side. The top icon is max speed. Note that it isnt going to be as good as a box fan or commercial fan, but its still good. I currently have mine sitting about 13 feet away from me and its hitting me very well. It could be better, but I could also move the fan closer if I really wanted to.

> 3 dayThis Honeywell fan is well worth the price. The base is a heavy metal plate - it has a slight lean, but nothing like any of the other fans Ive owned where they look like theyre going to topple over. The motor housing unit is pretty heavy for a fan. When I turn it off after having it on for 8-12 plus hours, its cool to the touch. It has the 2 blade technology that allows more air to flow towards you. I love that feature! Its fairly quiet. The fan to the left sitting on the floor is a powerhouse commercial-like fan youd find in a warehouse, it blows a TREMENDOUS amount of air. But its also incredibly NOISY. I use that one to help keep me asleep (have sleep issues? go buy one from Walmart). I read a couple reviews where people said that cages that cover the blades is a little tricky. The little metal pieces that should slide down easily to hold the 2 cage pieces together - it is a bear to get them to close. I only had problems with 2 of them. But they arent really that big of a deal, mine dont hang open. Havent gotten batteries for the remote so cant give that a rating.

> 3 dayFirst it is extremely quiet compared to the Lasko fan it replaced. Perfect for the bedroom at night, so quiet and yet gives a very good breeze. Each time you turn it on, make any changes it does give a quiet beep. The remote control makes it easy to change the fan speed, turn on - off, turn on the fan head rotation feature, and stay in the location you want to cool. It does have blue LED lights that glow / light up when the fan is turned on and as the fan level speed increases. In a lighted room just look like two blue dots. In a darkened room at night they do give a night light glow. The double blade feature, ( a 2nd smaller blade in front of the large standard blade), seems to help make it very effective at moving quite a bit of air while staying very quiet. Everything I wanted.

> 3 dayWe got this fan as a replacement and while its good in its own right (so far), it didnt work for our immediate need. We have two of our pedestal fans connected to smartplugs for voice/routine control and that works great when the fans can remember their settings during power-off/power-on, but this one does not. Every time we want this fan on we need to manually turn it on and move the speed up to Hi. Fortunately we use three pedestal fans in total so we mitigated the problem by moving fans around so our two mechanical-control fans are on the smartplugs. That aside, this fans seems to be of good quality for our simple needs. Theres good difference between the speeds, sound is where we like it (for some nighttime white noise), and its of solid construction. I cant comment on the remote control since I havent even put batteries in it. No interest there as wed end up losing the remote anyway. I wouldnt have even gotten a remote controlled fan except it was the correct price point with good ratings.

> 3 dayThe old fan stopped oscillating (broken plastic part), so we needed a new one. As this occurred during the massive heat wave, nothing was available in the stores, so I ordered this one. I am very impressed with the quality (always get metal grilles - plastic ones are too thick and cut air flow considerably) of this fan. The pedestal actually gets a screw on nut under the base to keep it attached (many fans simply have the pedestal drop into a hole in the base with no clips or other locking mechanism). I saw a similar fan under a different brand for less, but noted that the weight of the other one was about 3 pounds lighter, so I selected this one. The base is heavy, but not overly wide. The remote works well, the fan blows well. The three speed settings are plenty. The low setting is great for sleeping. But, because it is smaller at 16 vs. 18 of the old one, it does not move as much air, but still enough to be comfortable.

> 3 dayI bought this for a 2nd time to replace my original which was having some whining noise. Turns out that the replacement is worse than the original and has some wobbling noise that seems to be stemming from the motor. I let it go past the return date for Amazon and have been dealing with the manufacturer. So far the process is slow. It took them 10 days to get back to me on the original request. Im still dealing with the process now. With that said, this is still my favorite fan. Ive bought many newer fans here on Amazon that have the dual fan and each one of those the noise was too quiet for me and the fan itself wasnt powerful enough (16 w/ dual fan vs this 18 single blade fan). The one thing I dont like is that theyve switched up how the front plate attaches to the back plate - it is a downgrade. They used snap into place with about 8 hooks on the backplate, but now the frontplate just attaches to the back. There arent any notches on the new version and Im finding that the frontplate is literally shaking loose, which might be due to the wobbling Im experiencing from the motor.

> 3 dayBought two of these fans and both developed the same issue. There is a slight clicking-vibrating noise created when it is used in rotate mode. Enough to be annoying when using the fan to sleep at night but a noise that is not bothersome during the day when there are more noises going on. The fan is well made, is sturdy, the remote works great has lots of varying speed fluctuation features and is easy to clean.

> 3 dayMy living room is hot. There is no shade at the front of my home, ever. The summer time is as if the sun is peeking into my front window like a kid at a candy shop. Instead of candy-lust stares I get massive amounts of UV radiation. Most summers my AC will run non-stop between 2pm and 8pm. This little guy helped keep me and my family nice and cool. The oscillating feature is the main reason I bought this. Most days I was able to run this fan on low or medium while bumping my thermostat up 2-3 degrees. The breeze helped keep us cool and we were able to save some energy by giving the AC a tiny break. The remote works well and is easy to toggle through all the functions. I really enjoy the breeze mode. It makes it feel like I am outside enjoying a variable strength breeze. Its not very noisy in my opinion, except when its on high. But its still not very disruptive to whatever else is going on. If youre having a hard time staying cool then I would recommend getting this fan.
