> 24 hourIf you are replacing a keypad just make sure that you get the hardware address of old keypad before you remove it and program the new panel with the same address when you power the system back on.

> 24 hourReplaced my worn-out 6128 keypad. Easy, understandable directions. Quick DIY project. Be aware 1. larger 6160 requires more wall area but its mounting screws have same spacing as old 6128. 2. draws more power than 6128. This will be a concern when drawing down the backup battery during a power failure.

> 24 hourThe keypad came with no instructions. That seemed like a good sign as it must be simple. I removed the old worn keypad, wired this one up, and now it just looks good and does nothing. The display says Ready to Arm and the buttons make nice beep sounds, but I cant control my alarm system. If theres a trick to installing these, instructions would have been a fabulous idea. Its going back if no one can answer.

> 24 hourSuper easy install. Went from the 6150 which was a pain in the butt to use as a programming keypad as you cant see the inputs on screen like you can with the 6160. Any future programming changes will be a breeze. I powered down my 20p, unplugged the battery back-up as well, installed the new keypad. Plugged in the power and battery back up and ran to the new keypad, held down the 1 and 3 keys at the same time, entered the address of 16 then *, ran to my other keypad and held down 1 and 3 and changed it from 16 to address 17. You have to hold the 1 and 3 keys down within 60 seconds of powering the system back on in order to change and not just view the keypad address.
