After this new keypad was installed, I disconnected the power supply and the battery in the control panel. When power was reapplied the panel rebooted, recognized the new keypad and everything worked as expected.

The was a awesome experience, I received the keypad the next and installed it no problems. One of my best experiences purchasing on line.

Super easy install. Went from the 6150 which was a pain in the butt to use as a programming keypad as you cant see the inputs on screen like you can with the 6160. Any future programming changes will be a breeze. I powered down my 20p, unplugged the battery back-up as well, installed the new keypad. Plugged in the power and battery back up and ran to the new keypad, held down the 1 and 3 keys at the same time, entered the address of 16 then *, ran to my other keypad and held down 1 and 3 and changed it from 16 to address 17. You have to hold the 1 and 3 keys down within 60 seconds of powering the system back on in order to change and not just view the keypad address.

This box is needed for programming most Honeywell security systems and works fine. Nothing has changed about this keypad for 20+ years. Its not hard for program if you read the instructions and are moderately good with electronics.

These new key pads were so simple to install. I bought two pads and after the installation of the first I had an error message that a link was down. It turned out the data input and output wires were reversed though not sure where. Rolled those two wires and I was in business. Just completed the installation of the second unit and it came right up. For the past 13 years with the older ADEMCO unit I didnt realize I could activate the stay #3 and still leave. This pad gave me the message that it was possible. Comes in handy since I have animals that like to jump and have set off the alarm if Im away. No documentation on alarm codes etc. So dont throw your old documentation away. Over 90% of the error messages are the same.. Hole on the back of the wall plate aligned exactly with the screws and holes that existed. So in the end was unscrew and re screw a new back plate. Bottom line I am totally happy.

An easy replacement for an older touch-screen panel that was starting to fail. Works great!

This was exactly what I was looking for. I had a ADT version that I was locked out of by proprietary firmware. I unhooked the original and plugged this in. After 30 mins programming it worked great. I am using a Honeywell/Ademco Vista 20P.

The 6160 Deluxe Keypad is easy to install and simple to use. The attractive white console blends with any décor and features a contoured, removable door that conceals illuminated soft-touch keys. The 6160 also features a new larger and brighter 32-character display with easy-to-read plain-English status messages. The oversized function keys are easily accessed even when the keypad door is closed, and can be programmed for fire, burglary, personal emergencies and other operations. Colored self-adhesive labels are included.
