Honeywell Security 6160 Ademco Alpha Display Keypad

Works great.

Installation is easy, just follow the instructions to assign its network address to the main unit. Original unit lasted over 10 years of arming and disarming 1 or 2 times every single day before the membrane buttons started to not work as well. Didnt realize how worn the old one was until installing a brand new one.

I was told that this keypad was compatible with the Ademco 10se. Apparently it is, but only with certain chip versions. Be aware if you have a 10se or a similar ancient Ademo controller. Unfortunately, I found this out too late to return.

Opened up hooked wires up and it didnt work..last one i took off did. Must be yet more garbage.. Also the wire inidicators ( pos and neg etc) are written so small you need a magnifying glass. Why was this done? Well suck on my return honeywell and take it out of person who designed that mini print and thought it was ok. Incompetance

Did my research, and this unit worked exactly as expected. No problems, only missing instructions but I had one from my other 6160 keypad. Installed and working for over a month now. PS: these units are not easy to install, you must have a certain degree of technical ability and comprehension of the Ademco or Honeywell alarm system.
