> 3 dayI needed to program some new sensors and local Honeywell dealers wanted $90 for a new one. This was much less expensive and works as advertised. If you program your own alarm or want to program your own Honeywell Vista, you will need this.

> 3 dayReplaced a 6150 with this 6160. Never buy a 6150. Without the alpha display, it is almost impossible to program, because if you are trying different settings to figure out what works, you are never sure you entered it correctly. I was trying to program for my 4-wire smoke detectors, finally got it to work using a combination of *56, *79, and *80 commands, but only with the 6160. My alarm system is an older version of the Vista 20P, but it would be good if they built them with on-board WIFI included (kidda like printers come now) and a nice desktop or even phone app for programming. Entering codes and settings takes me back 30 years when programming assembly language commands.

> 3 dayWorked great replacing 25year old Ademco displays when I updated the main panel to Vista 21IP with GSM (instead of landline). We are comfortable with how this system works, dont need the cell phone apps and new interfaces. Reused all the sensors and house wiring and main box.

> 3 daySuper easy install. Went from the 6150 which was a pain in the butt to use as a programming keypad as you cant see the inputs on screen like you can with the 6160. Any future programming changes will be a breeze. I powered down my 20p, unplugged the battery back-up as well, installed the new keypad. Plugged in the power and battery back up and ran to the new keypad, held down the 1 and 3 keys at the same time, entered the address of 16 then *, ran to my other keypad and held down 1 and 3 and changed it from 16 to address 17. You have to hold the 1 and 3 keys down within 60 seconds of powering the system back on in order to change and not just view the keypad address.
