Ive used a handful of home carpet shampooers and a professional one rented from the grocery store and this one is by far my favorite. WEIGHT This is the lightest shampooer Ive used which makes pushing it around the whole house a breeze and much easier on my hands and back. Very easy to maneuver. WATER TANK The water tank holds about a gallon of water plus cleaning solution which is not a lot so Im frequently emptying and refilling the tanks, but this helps to keep the weight down so I dont have a problem with it. I really appreciate that when emptying the dirty tank you can choose to pour the dirty water out through a spout instead of taking the whole lid off. I didnt know how much I would like this feature until I tried it! No splashing mucky water everywhere! Both the water and solution entry areas are easily accessible. CLEANING POWER I have two boys who have an amazing ability to get everything dirty and a cat who likes to barf on the floor. My carpets are very old and get REALLY dirty. Its also been a long time since Ive had access to a carpet shampooer. Pictured is a high traffic area with some bonus cat barf on it and after one pass through it was so much cleaner! I have used a shampooer that did a little better cleaning on the first pass, but it was heavy, leaked, it was hard to clean, left the floors too wet, etc. For super dirty areas I go over the carpet twice and Im very happy with the results. It also left the carpet so fluffy. After going over the carpet 2-4 times on dry mode (not spraying water) the carpets were almost dry, which is a huge plus. I cant keep people/pets off the carpets for long around here so this is great. ATTACHMENTS It comes with a hose, an upholstery attachment, a stair attachment, an edge cleaner and an attachment with a spinning brush. The hose is super simple to attach to the machine. Ive seen some reviewers that didnt like the spinning brush attachment, but I love it. The first stair in my house is where everyone sits to put on and take off their shoes so it gets really dirty and the spinning brush scrubbed that sucker so clean. CLEANING THE VACUUM Anything on here that touches dirty water is amazingly easy to remove and clean! The brushes pull right off, the part on the front that sucks the water up lifts off easily after lifting a lever, which in turns exposes the filter, and the dirty tank opens all the way to get it clean. No hidden hoses or tight areas. This is huge for me. I have used a shampooer that was nearly impossible to clean and half my time was spent cleaning the carpet where the shampooer made it DIRTIER. Or trying to reach in with tweezers to get out a clump of cat fur that was stopping up the machine. Ugh. Because its so easy to clean I am much more likely to clean it after using it, which will extend the life of the shampooer. This is a big deal and this machine excels in this area. I wish my regular vacuum was this easy to clean! POWER CORD Its pretty short. Prepare to either use an extension cord or regularly plug it into a closer outlet as you move around. Either solution is not a big deal. NOISE Naturally, its a little loud. But not as loud as most of the ones Ive used - the one from the grocery store was so screaming loud I had to use ear plugs because my ears hurt after just a couple minutes. When I use it I pop in some ear plugs and listen to a podcast and everything is fine. TL;DR Buy this machine. Its lightweight, a joy to use and so easy to clean. Its easy to assemble out of the box (just two screws in the handle) and works well. Highly recommended. Seriously, stop looking and just get it. Your carpets and your back will thank you.

We don’t have a pet but we do have a toddler. We wished we have purchased this earlier when he was a baby. He would just throw up on the carpet and we just did the small cleanup. But his throw up smell was still there and it really turned our carpet black and smelly…hahaha. We just put a rug to cover it…wasn’t the smart choice. We purchased this when it was our last time at our smaller apartment. Wow, using this carpet shampooer was amazing by doing this really made a great investment. We even got our full refund on the apartment. Very easy to use. Of course it’s very loud because you’re basically shampooing and cleaning your carpet. I seriously think purchasing this is much better then paying someone to do it or renting this equipment. Just do yourself a favor and get this. It’s even funny because me and my husband will fight who is going to clean the carpet. Hehehe. It’s very satisfying.

After I finished the dirty water was as black as printers ink and the carpet was beige not brown. I used the cleaner again the following week. The dirty water was grey this time, so progress on this filthy carpet. I found out later that this carpet hadnt been washed in 22 years! I will use the cleaner again in a couple more days, and when I expect 22 years of dirt will be vanquished completely. I highly recommend this product; its the best.

This is a fantastic scrubber. I will let any reader know very specifics about this scrubber. I previously owned the scrub master older version from about 4 yrs ago. The brushes stopped spinning and I needed a new one. I chose this scrubber because of the price, it came with alot of attachments in their own bag, and because its hoover. I believe hands down hoover is the best. Anyway. I chose this one as my new scrubber. BIG DIFFERENCE! My last hoover was way heavier than this one even before adding water. Also, my old one was longer in the front, making it awkward to carry because all the weight was hanging in the front. This scrubber is nice and compact. Shorter, lighter, and not as wide. Big wheels and short front make it very easy to turn, where my old one was harder. I always bumped stuff. Startup: cord is decent. I wouldnt say short its about average. this scrubber is very quiet. I actually think its quieter than my vacuum slightly. My old one was super duper loud I didnt even want kids downstairs it was so loud. This one is like a vacuum but you can immediately hear the power. The brushes scrubbed so well I could feel the brush vibration sometimes from how powerful. take others advice, rinse wash rinse. Rinse gets your carpet damp enough to work with the soap and move with the brushes easier when you wash. Im 8 months pregnant and can handle this machine so well. Does not strain me to use, and I can actually carry it. Tanks: two tank system plus other compartment for solution, perfection! They are slightly smaller tanks than the scrub master, but Im fine with that because the machine isnt as bulky or heavy. If you ever owned a huge scrubber, you would appreciate the lighter weight, but its not too light. The $89 Bissell classic model, is alot smaller than this machine (for comparison). So I love the size. What took only one tank on my old take just a little over one for each step (rinse step rinse) but honestly I dont care if rather refill than drag a huge machine. Result: my carpets are very clean now. Even spray! The powerful brushes fluffed up my carpet way better than my old machine. Oh my. So soft to walk on and the high traffic area that was crushed down I could barely get up with my old machine, is so fluffed now! So better performance, shocking for a smaller machine. Cleanup: Advanced! If you have ever seen someone elses scrubber, the front window where the water and dirt is sucked up is always disgusting! My old machine came with a thin tool to scrape some gunk out, but I lost it and over time the hair and dirt just collected in it. No way to take this part apart on any machine to clean it. Its sealed and screwed down. On this scrubber, you can actually take it off and clean it! What!? With a V shape it isnt holding a ton of dirt, and the hose attachment flap is in the center so you can rinse the whole inside of this piece. This is a huge plus, people. You can clean everything on this machine spotless when you are done. Please do clean after every use, it only took me ten minutes but it prolongs the life of all scrubbers. I used and cleaned it and it looks brand new, cant even tell I used it. Anyone who owns a scrubber knows how amazing that is. I have struggled with my old one trying to get it clean but never could get that front part clean enough. Gross. Final thought: LOVR THIS MACHINE. Im sorry some other people had trouble, it happens with some products not every one is perfect. This machine didnt leak like my other one, light, and very powerful. I know scrubbers, and this is top knotch! And for $130? Are you kidding!? Fantastic. If you have very tough stains I buy carpet spray spot cleaner and pretreat sometimes, which who cares I understand some stains depending what it is can be hard. But this scrubber is top of the line. Trust me. Why spend more money? Get this machine.

This is a fabulous deal. I was leery of reported rusty metal near gaskets that would fail, so I purchased an extended warranty. But as the instruction booklet advises, I left the tanks and filter, front spray cover and spinner brushes to dry overnight like I did the carpet (after hand-toweling dry tank gaskets/pin and rest of the body). I released the handle and left the Hoover outstretched to dry on the living room tile. In the morning, I used an old travel-sized Sticky Buddy (lint/hair remover, pictured) to remove the lint from the (dry) black tank filter - 95% came off after the first pass on each side. I also took a Philips trimmer comb (pictured) Id never used, to gently (don’t break anything) lift/nudge the gray fuzz out of the soft (dry) spinner bristles (the fuzz has been “washed” after all); compare the 2 cleaned scrubber wheels at each end to the 3 uncombed ones in between. My naturally speckled 9-yr-old rental carpet looked like side-by-side moped tires dipped in axle grease had been making their way between the living room tile and the bathroom (top left), along the foot of the bed/dressers (from tile toward the right) and general gray grunge for the remaining carpet (center). It was depressing. All gone now, using only a fraction of the Hoover box’s enclosed cleaner solution, after 3 years of neglect (my ancient Pro Heat died, so I tried various by-hand methods). Because of the build-up in traffic areas, I did not follow directions re over-wetting the carpet: I did the advised wet/dry passes a couple times over the whole carpet; then I came back to the traffic areas and did more wet passes with only occasional dry, until each section started to really lighten (at most, a minute); then I backed off and dried, rinsed and dried again thoroughly. I left 3 small fans blowing on 3 sides of the bed all night, along with a small space heater on low heat for the largest area, and plopped the rinsed tanks and accessories into those streams of fan-blown air. All told, I spent about an hour shampooing/rinsing/sucking-dry the carpet around my bed and short hallway to the bathroom, and another hour rinsing/drying tanks/parts and doing silly things like combing spinner brushes. This Hoover is smaller, lighter and more maneuverable than my old Pro Heat (except for sneaking under furniture edges). Heavy/bulky upholstery tools are stored in a separate accessory bag, not on the machine, and all the gross stuff can be rinsed (or rolled/combed off) with ease. So I’m fine with having it next to my grandkids basket of stuffed animals (it’s certainly cleaner than the bottom of my shoes that tracked carport oil/silt onto the carpet in the first place, lol). I will likely use the Hoover only once or twice a year for 100 sq ft of carpet, so taking time to clean/dry it for storage afterward is no big deal. It’s not a commercial-grade behemoth. You can’t fling it around like a mop, either: just slowly up and back, overlap, slowly up and back about one foot/sec – works GREAT. Sneaking the scrubber under furniture will press the Hoover’s upper tank against that furniture and pry it loose from its gasket so the Hoover stops sucking. But it has accessory tools to clean where its built-in brushes cant go. Also, note that the latch for the lower tank is shared with the spray shield below – since the latch is happy to flip either way, it takes a few tries to get the hang of how it should look/feel – there is no solid thunk as it latches successfully onto the lip of the tank. And yes, I wish the cord were about 3 ft longer. I can’t speak to its longevity yet, but I found this carpet cleaner to be thoughtfully engineered, the parts align/latch correctly, its tanks are easy to fill/empty. It’s clean, so I can keep it handy indoors for any kiddie spills that occur. There may be lemons out there, but the one I received completely refurbished the pitiful carpet I’ve been living with. Thank you, Hoover and Amazon Prime!

I have had this for several years now, and just got around to reviewing it. But I guess that is even better, because he will know that it is reliable. It works nicely, and I have been able to get stains out of my carpet very well. The worst one was an ink stain When I was doing calligraphy. I accidentally poured the entire bottle of black ink onto my cream colored carpet. I could not get everything out, but there is only a slate gray shadow in the carpet. It helps so much. It really does make the carpet look a lot better. I actually use thieves cleaner in it as the carpet shampoo. It worked very nicely. About a year after getting this machine, the seal Around the dirty water collector broke. I still use it although that is broken. It still works. OK, but I wish that that was a little sturdier. That has been the only problem.

My first impression was that this was lighter than most carpet cleaners Ive used, but that does not have an effect on its performance. This shampooer has a very strong suction and is super easy to use. Leaves the carpet just barely wet and the carpet dries very quickly after. Make sure to follow the directions and vacuum first! Also, do a rinse run after you do a shampoo run or the carpet will get stiff. The best for shampooing stairs!

Wow! I had read the reviews, but I still wasnt prepared for how amazing this machine is! We had some horrible stains that we assumed could had been grease dragged in by our mechanic son. We tried different sprays and couldnt get the stains out. My son used this carpet cleaner, and after he went over the stains a few times, they disappeared. I wish I had before photos to show you how great it is. The dirty water also blew me away after he cleaned the room. I had no idea how bad the carpet was, even though its vacuumed at least once a week. The water was full of dirt and cat hair. This machine is worth every penny. I plan to talk my son into cleaning every room in the house now! Highly recommend!!

Easy to use, cleans very well. My two complaints are the float valve constantly closes, with the slightest bump, forcing you to shut it off until the float opens up. Super annoying as it also doesn’t allow the tank to fill fully. Second, the handle latch and on off switch are smooth plastic, making your foot slip off them when using, especially on wet carpet, also super annoying.
