The level of dirt and grim found in the dirty water was mind boggling. Great product just be ready to be grossed out and humbled when you empty the tank the first time. I truly wanted to believe the tank was black and I forgot or it was very dark tint which would help explain the water color. Take your time as it isn’t a vacuum cleaner. you have to give it time to actually deep clean the carpet. I did the wash and plan on going over the carpet again on the rinse setting. My son has asthma and allergies so this is truly a life saver with pollen.

I’ve used this a fair amount since I bought it, and here are some random thoughts: 1) Hooked/Berber Rugs: I bought this specifically for the attachments because I thought I would need them to clean my hooked rugs (like Berbers with a looped pile) to protect it. After being on my hands and knees for ½ hour with the attachment, I realized that it was an exercise in futility, so I broke down and used the machine as intended. Well, turns out that the brushes are actually quite soft and gentle so it worked perfectly without damaging the rugs. 2) Rust: I read a lot of reviews that complain about the machine rusting, so I remove both the brush head and clear plastic nozzle (cow catcher on the front) before storing it. Can’t say whether this approach works or not (I’ve only had the machine for 6 months) but it can’t hurt. I’m hoping that it will help any residual moisture to dry out more easily. I also clean out the tanks well and make sure that they are really dry before putting them back on when I store it away. 3) Cleaning the brushes: No matter how much I vacuum first, this machine still manages to pull up a ton of dog hair from my rugs (maybe I need a new vacuum?). Anyway, all of the hair ends up buried deep down in the brush bristles. It turns out that you can remove the brushes from the clear plastic assembly that encases them, but frankly I’m scared to break the little locking tabs. As a result, it seems that soaking and “swishing” the entire assembly in a bucket of water seems to clean it fairly well. 4) Soap dispenser: Frankly I think the fill line ends up holding way more soap than you can use with one tank of clean water, and there’s no easy way to get it back into the jug so it’s a waste. I only fill the dispenser about ½ full. 5) Yellow “float” pops up: When the float pops up you loose suction, and it seems to be because the filter is blocked. This is probably the most annoying thing about this machine. I thought it was just the dog har that was blocking the filter, but even removing it with a clothes brush didn’t help. Now I’m convinced that soap build-up causes the blockage, and rinsing the filter with a lot of clean water seems to solve the problem. 6) Cord: I managed to run over the cord several times, which can’t be a good thing, so I finally looped it through the upper cord storage hook which fixed the problem. 7) High/Low Rugs: Not sure that any carpet machine could handle this, but the brushes cant reach the low parts of my high/low sculpted rugs. The attachments help though All in all I’m very happy with this machine and with how clean it gets my rugs. It’s not terribly heavy, so I’m able to clean all of my carpets without feeling like I ran a marathon. The price also seems reasonable when compared to others on the market.

You have to buy a squeegee separately for this product and it Keeps the brushes from hitting the floor period without that squeegee it will scratch the floor

I should have looked into it more. My previous cleaner had an option for heat. This one does not. But runs fine. Gets the job done.

Easy to use, cleans very well. My two complaints are the float valve constantly closes, with the slightest bump, forcing you to shut it off until the float opens up. Super annoying as it also doesn’t allow the tank to fill fully. Second, the handle latch and on off switch are smooth plastic, making your foot slip off them when using, especially on wet carpet, also super annoying.

Let me say first that this is my time owning a carpet cleaner so keep that in mind. The room will get hot and humid but Im guessing thats normal for this or I just overdid it because of how nasty the carpet squares were in the basement. It would be nice if the tanks on it were bigger but I know that would make it even more heavy so I understand why theyre a gallon each. The power cord might be a bit short too but they might all be this long. Make sure to use a proper high suction vacuum on the carpet beforehand. Go in each direction twice all over the carpet so that all the junk in the carpet is removed and doesnt end up in the carpet cleaner as well as the cleaner having to clean it instead of just cleaning the carpet. Pros: The unit does a very good job cleaning the floor and the dirty water tank is easy to empty as well as snap back in. The water/soap tank being in one unit is very nice and its removal is easy as well. I havent used the attachments yet so I cant comment on them but will update later once I do. I used Oxiclean the first time with white vinegar to clean and it did a good job and I just used a pet order cleaner/remover and that did a great job too. There wasnt much to put together when it arrived so that was nice. The pour spout on the front of the dirty water tank is excellent at dumping the rubbish water quickly. Taking the dirty water tank apart to clean is quick and easy and rinsing it out is pretty quick too once you learn what angles to have the water shoot in as you rotate it. The flip up connector that holds the dirty water tank in is quick to work if you just pull up on it with a flick and let it flop down and out of the way. Even though only two screws hold in the handle I have pulled it around and torqued on it getting it to hit certain areas and its rock solid still. This is after 20 hours of use. I had used it over 4 hours in a few a few times while trying to clean the basement. I did have to go up and down the stairs a lot to dump, rinse and fill but thats still a long time of pretty much direct use. It does a very good job of sucking up the water to the point that when all of the soap has been rinsed out of the carpet that there isnt much moisture to suck up. The carpet is a bit damp but not soggy and when you run the unit over it you cant really see anything being sucked up besides a tiny amount of liquid barely sliding up the dirty water tank lid where it enters on top. The price is very nice too after looking at all of the options. Spending more on a cleaner doesnt mean its better or will last longer, thats why I got from all of the reviews here and other legit sites. It really does clean edge to edge of the cleaner because of the brush and vacuum design up front. Cons: The unit is heavy and when you pull back slowly it wants to slide away from the wall slightly so you have to press the side to keep it up against it. Im not sure if its leaking because running one of these creates water everywhere from dumping and loading. The power lever on the base is too small to get with the top leaned back. It really need to have a function to turn off the scrubbers and also to turn off the suction independently. Latching the dirty water tank back up is annoying because as you flip the latch up to lock it in there are times it would miss the edge of the dirt water tank and get stuck up and next to it so its a pain to pop back out and then try to latch it again. This is after everything on the cleaner is wet and dumping it a lot during use. When you press the power button you can see the water that was being sucked up bubble down to the carpet and can see its wet when you move it. The water/soap trigger is not far enough back in the handle and the handle is huge like they made that part for Andre the Giant. After a long time of using it my fingers started to get tired because of this. I dont know if this typical of these machines but it is crazy loud. I use my active noise cancelling earbuds when using it and its still loud, the high pitched part is what gets me. When there is too much foam in the dirty tank the overflow floater pops up and you have to tilt the dirty water tank back to get a few extra passes and then dump it with the container only being half full of water. You have to angle the vacuum piece just at the proper angle to slide it back in after removing it to clean the fuzz filter for the vacuum part of it.

Review 1: Caveat: I have not used this machine yet. It was delivered earlier today and I plan to use it when I get home. So these 5 stars are for ontime delivery, but I plan to write a follow-up once I have more information and experience. A lot of research went into this purchase. We have never owned a full sized carpet washer before, always using rentals. But I found we were not really renting as often as the carpet needed cleaning, so having one always handy made sense. For some reason Id always thought Hoover for vacuum cleaners and Bissel for carpet washers. So I was strongly leaning toward a Bissel when I started my research. The posted reviews for this model convinced me otherwise. My visiting daughters dog gave us a fresh stain just last night (fireworks), so I am anxious to try this unit out. Stay tuned. Review 2 - Follow-up: When I got home, I found the box had a huge gash in one corner. Loss of points for FedEx, but bonus points for Hoovers packing - the cleaner was undamaged. Assembly was simple (2 screws) and intuitive. Other parts snapped on to the machine with large solid clamps. Theres nothing fragile or flimsy about this machine. The print material does have some flaws: The quick start guide describes cleaning, explaining a first and 2nd spray pass, but goes no further. The full manual clarifies that this should be followed by at least 4 suction-only passes, to remove the water. Also, in the full manual, cleaning of the brushes is said to be explained in detail on p.16, but actually occurs on p.15. Two complaints Id read about in other reviews dont bear up: 1. The power cord attaches at the bottom forcing you to hold the cord up out of your work area. While this is true, there is a place on the upper handle where you can attach the power cord to keep it up off the carpet. That said though, the nature of this type of movement necessitates you holding the cord anyway. So this is not a design flaw, just the nature of the action. 2. Slight jarring of the unit causes it to disengage suction. I never encountered this. In fact, the only time I can see this even being possible is when your dirty water tank is almost full anyway. Essentially, there is a float ball in that tank. When the ball rises on top of the dirty water in the tank, eventually it gets high enough to block an opening, preventing you from overfilling the tank with dirty water. Pretty slick! If the tank gets close to full, and you jar it, I can see how the ball might prematurely splash up and block that opening. This seems pretty minor, and to me would just indicate you might want to empty that tank now rather than wait a minute or two, until it is completely full. Clean-up was impressive. Every place on the unit where crud (hair, other bits, etc.) could collect, was designed to be removed from the machine, easily opened, and simply but thoroughly cleaned. Water and solution go in 2 separate locations and are mixed only when used. The plus to this is that when youre done, you can throw out the remaining clean water and none of the solution. A small spot washer we had previously required tossing out the solution/water mix or starting out the next time with a cold mix. The end result: The carpet looks good, though some bad spots remain. Pretreating will, not surprisingly, be needed. The ammonia smell from a urine spot is now all gone. The dirty water, as seen with commercial washers, came out looking more like chocolate milk. The dirty water tank was cleaned after this and even when the carpet was totally redone with just hot rinse water, the suctioned dirty water was almost as dark. After a total washing and a total rinsing, the carpet dried in a fraction of the time that Id come to expect with commercial units. Doors and windows were open, to be sure, but cleaning was started after dinner and the furniture could be put back before packing it in for the night, and this is the Seattle area, not desert weather. After one thorough use, this carpet washer gets a very well deserved 5 full stars. Zero regrets on this purchase. I highly recommend it.
