> 3 dayThe level of dirt and grim found in the dirty water was mind boggling. Great product just be ready to be grossed out and humbled when you empty the tank the first time. I truly wanted to believe the tank was black and I forgot or it was very dark tint which would help explain the water color. Take your time as it isn’t a vacuum cleaner. you have to give it time to actually deep clean the carpet. I did the wash and plan on going over the carpet again on the rinse setting. My son has asthma and allergies so this is truly a life saver with pollen.

> 3 dayThe progressive innovations over the years make this cleaner top notch and convenient to use. This is my 4th carpet cleaner (2nd Hoover). Bissel has been good but more difficult to work with than the Hoover brand. Kudos to Hoover for the continued improvements! The machine is fragile in the sense that its mostly plastic. So requires deft handling. But the good price point and light handling are strong points. In my experience this type of machine is good for 2-3 years, depending on how heavily it is used. The convenience and effectiveness of the machine is delightful to a bi-weekly carpet cleaner (dogs).

> 3 dayIve used a handful of home carpet shampooers and a professional one rented from the grocery store and this one is by far my favorite. WEIGHT This is the lightest shampooer Ive used which makes pushing it around the whole house a breeze and much easier on my hands and back. Very easy to maneuver. WATER TANK The water tank holds about a gallon of water plus cleaning solution which is not a lot so Im frequently emptying and refilling the tanks, but this helps to keep the weight down so I dont have a problem with it. I really appreciate that when emptying the dirty tank you can choose to pour the dirty water out through a spout instead of taking the whole lid off. I didnt know how much I would like this feature until I tried it! No splashing mucky water everywhere! Both the water and solution entry areas are easily accessible. CLEANING POWER I have two boys who have an amazing ability to get everything dirty and a cat who likes to barf on the floor. My carpets are very old and get REALLY dirty. Its also been a long time since Ive had access to a carpet shampooer. Pictured is a high traffic area with some bonus cat barf on it and after one pass through it was so much cleaner! I have used a shampooer that did a little better cleaning on the first pass, but it was heavy, leaked, it was hard to clean, left the floors too wet, etc. For super dirty areas I go over the carpet twice and Im very happy with the results. It also left the carpet so fluffy. After going over the carpet 2-4 times on dry mode (not spraying water) the carpets were almost dry, which is a huge plus. I cant keep people/pets off the carpets for long around here so this is great. ATTACHMENTS It comes with a hose, an upholstery attachment, a stair attachment, an edge cleaner and an attachment with a spinning brush. The hose is super simple to attach to the machine. Ive seen some reviewers that didnt like the spinning brush attachment, but I love it. The first stair in my house is where everyone sits to put on and take off their shoes so it gets really dirty and the spinning brush scrubbed that sucker so clean. CLEANING THE VACUUM Anything on here that touches dirty water is amazingly easy to remove and clean! The brushes pull right off, the part on the front that sucks the water up lifts off easily after lifting a lever, which in turns exposes the filter, and the dirty tank opens all the way to get it clean. No hidden hoses or tight areas. This is huge for me. I have used a shampooer that was nearly impossible to clean and half my time was spent cleaning the carpet where the shampooer made it DIRTIER. Or trying to reach in with tweezers to get out a clump of cat fur that was stopping up the machine. Ugh. Because its so easy to clean I am much more likely to clean it after using it, which will extend the life of the shampooer. This is a big deal and this machine excels in this area. I wish my regular vacuum was this easy to clean! POWER CORD Its pretty short. Prepare to either use an extension cord or regularly plug it into a closer outlet as you move around. Either solution is not a big deal. NOISE Naturally, its a little loud. But not as loud as most of the ones Ive used - the one from the grocery store was so screaming loud I had to use ear plugs because my ears hurt after just a couple minutes. When I use it I pop in some ear plugs and listen to a podcast and everything is fine. TL;DR Buy this machine. Its lightweight, a joy to use and so easy to clean. Its easy to assemble out of the box (just two screws in the handle) and works well. Highly recommended. Seriously, stop looking and just get it. Your carpets and your back will thank you.

> 3 dayAfter I finished the dirty water was as black as printers ink and the carpet was beige not brown. I used the cleaner again the following week. The dirty water was grey this time, so progress on this filthy carpet. I found out later that this carpet hadnt been washed in 22 years! I will use the cleaner again in a couple more days, and when I expect 22 years of dirt will be vanquished completely. I highly recommend this product; its the best.

> 3 dayLast time carpet was cleaned: At least a year. Houehold Occupants: A 2 yr old chocolate milk junkie, a 6 yr old food spilling champion and a senior chihuahua who doesnt always make it to her doggie pad. Shipping: Amazon is amazing as usual. Packaging: Very well packed. All the pieces were there and intact. Setup: Easy. Open the box, attach the handle, fill it up with water & solution, plug it in and start cleaning. Filling: Easy. The openings on the water & solution tank make filling a breeze. No leaks so far. As for the tank size, I feel its adequate. I believe I had to fill the water 4 times and used the entire sample solution bottle for my 10 x 12 living room. Cleaning: Wow! Thats what my wife said when she first saw the carpet after I finished. I felt it put down a lot of solution though so I went back over the area twice with just water which made the rinse option come in handy. The heated air feature is not a gimmick, I feel it helps the carpet dry faster. While this thing isnt a miracle worker, compared to what the carpets were before, it definitely cleans! Emptying: Easy. The separate tanks and spout on the dirty water tank let you fluidly empty the tank when necessary. Manueverability: Easy. Given its smaller size and larger wheels, I had no trouble pushing/pulling this thing around the living room. The cord was long enough to cover the entire room. Upholstery cleaning: It cleaned our microfiber sofa! I was seriously considering replacing our current sofa with a leather one (still might) because this thing is a stain magnet. If I could find the guy who told me this was the best fabric for kids and pets...I digress. The spin brush worked ok for me although I mainly used the wide upholstery brush, scrubbing as I went. I can see why companies charge a lot extra to clean a sofa or chair; very time consuming. The only downside is I need to go back over the side I cleaned because I missed some spots as it is hard to tell when its wet. Storage: Its the size of a vacuum, so it fits right next to Shark Navigator in the closet. The accessories bag that holds the hose and upholstery attachments has a hook attached to it which allows you to hang it on the machine when you arent using it. Durability: Too soon to tell. I think most things can last a while if you take care of them (cleaning before storage, cleaning the brushes, not running it into walls/furniture etc.). Cant do much for manufacturing defects except hope Hoover stands behind their warranty. Overall toughts: I was debating between this and the Bissell Big Green Machine. Both had great reviews and videos on YouTube, but at $127 I couldnt pass this machine up. I expected not to like it and carefully opened the packaging so it would be easier to return it to Amazon later, but as you have read above, I really like this little guy and Im keeping it. It might or might not clean as well as the $400 Bissell, but Im happy with it so thats all that matters to me. Thanks for reading and I hope my review helped you. Have a great day!

> 3 dayLove, love, love this carpet cleaner! Does an outstanding job on my apartment carpets. I even used it on my apartment complex hallway carpet and stairs, which were filthy. Looks like new now! Lightweight, easy to use, easy to clean. Uses very little water and definitely sucks up what is sprayed onto carpet. Carpet dries withi 20 min. Have used it for two years. No issues.

Greater than one weekI love this product! It did a fantastic job on our very dirty carpets. We pre treated spots with the recommended Hoover spot cleaner prior to shampooing the carpets and they look like new. Very pleased.

Greater than one weekI got this in 17. I use it to vacuum a lot. Then I use the shampoo on a small area each time. Just rotate around and over four or five times I have the whole carpet cleaned. I ended up with the seal at the top of the dirty water tank leaking. Luckily found a place called parts warehouse that has diagrams and parts available. Less than three bucks for the seal. Shipping will probably be more than that so Im going to get any parts I might need like a new filter.

> 3 dayI’ve used this a fair amount since I bought it, and here are some random thoughts: 1) Hooked/Berber Rugs: I bought this specifically for the attachments because I thought I would need them to clean my hooked rugs (like Berbers with a looped pile) to protect it. After being on my hands and knees for ½ hour with the attachment, I realized that it was an exercise in futility, so I broke down and used the machine as intended. Well, turns out that the brushes are actually quite soft and gentle so it worked perfectly without damaging the rugs. 2) Rust: I read a lot of reviews that complain about the machine rusting, so I remove both the brush head and clear plastic nozzle (cow catcher on the front) before storing it. Can’t say whether this approach works or not (I’ve only had the machine for 6 months) but it can’t hurt. I’m hoping that it will help any residual moisture to dry out more easily. I also clean out the tanks well and make sure that they are really dry before putting them back on when I store it away. 3) Cleaning the brushes: No matter how much I vacuum first, this machine still manages to pull up a ton of dog hair from my rugs (maybe I need a new vacuum?). Anyway, all of the hair ends up buried deep down in the brush bristles. It turns out that you can remove the brushes from the clear plastic assembly that encases them, but frankly I’m scared to break the little locking tabs. As a result, it seems that soaking and “swishing” the entire assembly in a bucket of water seems to clean it fairly well. 4) Soap dispenser: Frankly I think the fill line ends up holding way more soap than you can use with one tank of clean water, and there’s no easy way to get it back into the jug so it’s a waste. I only fill the dispenser about ½ full. 5) Yellow “float” pops up: When the float pops up you loose suction, and it seems to be because the filter is blocked. This is probably the most annoying thing about this machine. I thought it was just the dog har that was blocking the filter, but even removing it with a clothes brush didn’t help. Now I’m convinced that soap build-up causes the blockage, and rinsing the filter with a lot of clean water seems to solve the problem. 6) Cord: I managed to run over the cord several times, which can’t be a good thing, so I finally looped it through the upper cord storage hook which fixed the problem. 7) High/Low Rugs: Not sure that any carpet machine could handle this, but the brushes cant reach the low parts of my high/low sculpted rugs. The attachments help though All in all I’m very happy with this machine and with how clean it gets my rugs. It’s not terribly heavy, so I’m able to clean all of my carpets without feeling like I ran a marathon. The price also seems reasonable when compared to others on the market.

> 3 dayI moved into a house for rent and the carpet appeared brown. No odor so I never knew it was packed with mud. I used this vacuum 4 times throughout the week and my carpet is now the original tan color. I can definitely tell whoever had this house before me smoked. The smell was obvious once I started but quickly went away near the end of the task. 10/10 money well spent.
